Multiboot Virtualization - Bare Metal Hypervisor Setup

I am interested in the possibility of putting together a hackintosh which would allow me to run three operating systems simultaneously but not using your traditional virtualization software but using a low level Hypervisor virtualization software like Xen. http://www.xenproject.org/ You see, the idea is that with a light weight low level layer of software you can allow all of the OS installations nearly direct access to the hardware, which would yeild the best performance, allow live switching between operating systems and in the end, enable the user to have more productivity.

I have found http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/to...ervisor-run-win7-ubuntu-osx-at-the-same-time/

Which seemed to have a lot of great information but the thread died out, and while the I have learned that it seems to be possible and has been done, there is a lack of instructions on how to set it up.

My hope is that a guide can be posted to TonyMac which would detail how to set this up. In the end, this seems to me the most ideal multi boot setup you can have on your hackintosh.

Thanks!

Hi mavin,

VM's are expressly forbidden as a topic here I am afraid. You will need to look elsewhere for further information/advice.

"My hope is that a guide can be posted to TonyMac which would detail how to set this up" - I cannot foresee this happening due to the rules.

The closest that is discussed is the clover boot loader which lets you select an operating system at startup. This isn't the same as what you are looking for, so you will need to post questions elsewhere.

Good luck

This is not a traditional Virtual Machine which is why I put it in the multiboot forum. This is not a discussion about setting up a Windowed Virtual machine on top of a common Operating system like windows or Mac. Its kind of a hybrid between a Virtual Machine and a multi boot setup. I figured that this kind of configuration would appeal best to this crowd which is why I posted it here.

But I am not talking about any pre-built VM, or piracy related type of discussion. In theory a legally purchased version of OS X would run on the correct hardware, using this type of setup. So I am not so sure if I am in violation of the rules.

In any event, where do you think the most appropriate place to post this question would be?
I would happily delete the thread myself if the admins think this violates the terms, but I don't seem to be able to find that option.
