How did you make keyboard backlight work?

With kext "AsusNBFnKeys.kext" and "Keyboard backlight 4 level Haswell" DSDT patch.

Sleep with DSDT patch "USB3 _PRW 0x6D (instant wake)".

Damn. Sleep patch didn't work for me. laptop goes to sleep but won't wake up. I haven't tried upgrading to the new VoodooIC2 kext yet. Need to get sleep working first.

Maybe only your brightness is at 0. Had the problem at the beginning.

And old VoodooI2C.kext 1.0.4 is a sleep preventer.

Can you define sleep functionality you are looking for?

I have ASUS UX430 (see https://www.tonymacx86.com/threads/guide-asus-zenbook-ux430-i7-8550-kaby-lake-r-alc294.243618/) and sleep from menu works, lid closing puts machine to sleep. To wake up I move trackpad, move arrow key and if in deep sleep I use power button.

I just want the laptop to wake up . It goes to sleep from function key, closing lid, menu option but nothing wakes it up. Screen just stays black.

Maybe only your brightness is at 0. Had the problem at the beginning.

I used the function keys to adjust brightness and it looks like like the backlight is changing but its still black.

I removed the older VoodooIC2 kext and laptop still won't wake up. I tried 2.0.1 kext but then trackpad didn't work at all. Pretty sure I need to to more to get track pad working with newer kext but my main focus is getting the laptop to wake back up right now. ARGHHH!

Try the patches. For this laptop, it works great for me.
