Asus Z690 ProArt Creator WiFi (Thunderbolt 4) + i7-12700K + AMD RX 6800 XT

You might have uncovered a BIOS bug...
No I didn't, turned out the bug is on me :).
The CPUFriend.kext was updated to 1.2.6 and I generate the CPUFriendDataProvider using CPUFriendFriend.
The result was halving the performance.

Wow - Is this with a 12700 or 12900? What DDR5 RAM speed do you have?

This is core i9-12900K and Corsair DDR5 5200MHz memory. Single thread performance is only few points apart. The multi-thread on the other hand, scale with the core count, hence much higher (12700 - 12 core, 12900 - 16 core). It will be interesting to see how 13900K perform, 8 P core + 16 E core.

New BIOS incoming... v 1601... Adds support for next generation Intel processors... aka Raptor Lake.

No Raptor Lake yet on Newegg or Microcenter.

What’s the latest on the XMP issues with four sticks? (Forgive me if I’ve missed this being resolved or not).

Good question. I haven't tried 4 sticks... I only have two sticks for 32 GB of 6000 CL36 DDR5 RAM. I haven't needed anymore GB.

I do know that Z590 also had similar issues with 4 sticks at XMP... took much longer to train the memory when enabling XMP. I miss the days of Z170. My old Skylake box was extremely quick to post... ready to load the OS within 3-4 seconds after restarting or pushing the power button...

Speaking of BIOS upgrades — specifically bricked motherboards :) — an unnamed replacement part is due to arrive today, which should allow Asus to finally effect repair on my ProArt Z690-Creator. Looking forward to getting it back. And the first thing I will do? Why, upgrade the BIOS of course!

Tinkerers gonna tink. I hope the replacement works well and no issues with updating the bios.

Funny, I was just going to inquire if you had any updates. Will be good to have you back in the ProArt saddle again! I really hope you're able to find out more about the repair itself.

The config has been humming along for me. Successfully upgraded to OC V.82 using the HackinDROM app.
