And I have managed to restore my access to this forum, so if you have any questions about the guide linked above, PMPatch or FTK - feel free to ask it.

Good to hear.

Is there any way to create the USB flashback drive in OS X? All I have currently is an old Macbook, and I don't have a copy of windows for bootcamp (this thing is too old and slow anyway).

Somebody please help mee:crazy:

usb flashback just uses a fat16 or fat32 usb stick, cant remember which or maybe it dont even matter (check the manual) with the correctly named bios file on it

Ok I got it flashed. But now I'm on my old macbook that's not compatible with Mountain Lion (so i can't download my copy from the app store) and I need it to make the unibeast stick again. ARGGHH

trying to flash an asus p8h77-i motherboard with the ftk method as detailed in the biosrepo

once i boot into dos, run biosrefl it'll be okay down to 'FPT Operation Passed'

once it starts the 'Copying module data from BIOS region backup to bios.bin.' it eventually gets an error:
Can't open output file.
: Permission denied
Error occured during copy phase. Exiting.

any ideas?

edit; nevermind worked it out, just realised my windows install i was using had a compressed file system by default, unticked the box and booted it up again
works now :)

Hi, I have an P8Z77-V LX and would like to use a modded bios, but can't find one for this exact board model.
Could someone point me in the right direction please?

Kind regards.

download the latest bios file from the asus site, then patch it with pmpatch http://biosrepo.wordpress.com/2013/01/19/simple-way-to-patch-your-own-bios/

then flash the recently patched bios file with FTK

Hi, thanks for your response. I downloaded and ran PMPatch on the latest BIOS downloaded from Asus fro this board. I then ran that, as instructed, but are running it on another PC, a laptop. The result of the Terminal window is below. Does it mean it patched it successfully or unsuccessfully:

PMPatch 0.5.11
PowerManagement module at 003FEBE0 patched.
AMI nest modules not found.
Phoenix nest modules not found.
CpuPei module at 00791288 not patched: Patch pattern not found.
CpuPei module at 007D1288 not patched: Patch pattern not found.
Output file generated.

Another question is, if I'm not at all bothered about sleep, should I even bother with patching the BIOS, as I never use sleep or speedstep, I will maybe want to over-clock it though.

Kind regards.
