Hello everyone.

I had a hackingtosh since 2015 with my old MSI Z97 Gaming 5, GTX 1070, 19.13.6 High Sierra, i7 4790k 4GHz, 32Gb DDR3 2300 mhz which served me well, unfortunately it has become too old for my workflow and the fact I cannot move any firther than high sierra has made it almost non usable.
I was eagerly waiting the announcement of the first apple silicon computers and while I love the new technology apple has put into the M1 chips, I simply cannot purchase a machine with just 16GB of ram (the current limit), as my old 2015 computer had 32Gb and I was planning to upgrade to 64GB.

I'm in quite a hurry of getting a new machine, so it seems there is no choice but building a new hackingtosh.
Upon checking the buyer's guide, though, I couldn't help but notice that the components on display are not exactlycutting edge.
The most recent intel generation is the 9th and no motherboard has any USB4/thinderbolt connections available.
I have checked the buyer's guide numerous times throughout 2019/2020 but it seems the components are always the same and I have a suspition the list hasn't been updated in a long time.

I'd just like to know what you think about this, as I'd like to build my new hackingtosh with modern components (especialyl with regards to the IO).

THank you.
