Good for you Jaspercat5, congratulations! What resolution is your screen set to?
 
I think what may have helped is to get everything working consistently with a standard monitor. Then plug in the Atlona and hook up the Apple CD. It works for me totally consistently.

I have the right DSDT.aml file which is tailored to the exact bios version. This was key to getting a stable setup. Used this aml file with a later version of the bios initially and the system was unstable. So I flashed the bios with the earlier version (1502) of the bios for my MB and reinstalled everything.

It may be a pain but you may want to go back to a brand new install. Upgrading to 10.6.6 - getting it to load with iBoot initially and then working with recommended Multibeast settings to get stability and everything working like sound, ethernet, sleep and shutdown. Then hook up the Atlona and Apple monitor.
