Toleda - thanks for your response - I thought the the HDMI Audio AppleHDA/clover HDMI thread was the thread that was Deprecated but this indicates this Easy Guide thread is deprecated, right?
When this hackintosh was first done in January 2012, tonymacx86 created a Custom Beast for me to use. That Custom Beast is still on the hard drive and opens but I haven't run it. There were some problems with it but I am wondering if I can run it now to fix the HDMI problems.
System - Motherboard Gigabyte GA-Z86X-UD3H-B3 recently updated to UEFI by flashing to version U1n.
Graphic - Gigabyte GV-R6850C-1GD which uses AMD Radeon HD6850 Graphics Accelerator
The problems were that the monitor came up black after the install. That is not the case now as it is working fine.
Via email we worked through the problems but I am not sure of all these details of what we did.
What I have notes on is that we enabled the monitor by entering Graphics Enabler=No (not needed now).
The next part of that email discussion with tonymacx86 with "certain configs that need non-standard framebuffer configs." I have no notes on what we did regarding that.
I do not remember there being any problems with audio back then but there may have been.
Do you have any suggestions on how to enable my HDMI audio easily and quickly? I am wondering if by running Custom Beast will that fix the audio? screw up the video?
FYI there was also a discussion on using DVI versus HDMI to fix things but that was never implemented. Everything stayed on HDMI and worked out fine.
TIA
