Hey everyone,

I need advice on graphics card. I currently have a Gigabyte 6870 OC installed on my hackintosh with 2600K oc'd to 4.5 GHz and I'm doing a lot of video rendering using Final Cut Pro X. I would like to get better performance as far as video rendering, I do some playing on my Windows partition. Should I get a second 6870 and do a crossfire or should I just get a better video card (7970 or 670/680). Any advice as far as pros and cons would be greatly appreciated.

There are several threads, but this is the latest:

I heard that 4 vs 6 cores is not thaaaaat much difference. So unless you make money (more then enough) doing what you do with video.. I would keep what you have, and get the best Open CL card (7970 is twice as fast as 670GTX). 670GTX is good for gaming, 7970 good for both, but excels in "computing". Hopefully it will get full support in 10.8.3.
