I have been in market for mac mini. Since the 2014 mac mini is quite disappointing, I have been looking for good alternative

Can anyone confirm that the Acer Revo One will be hackable right out of the box?

Thanks

You can forget about the cheap Celeron models - the graphics on the Celeron are unsupported. I don't know about the i3 and i5 models - I don't think Apple is yet using any of the 5xxx series Core processors in any of their systems yet, so the CPUs may be unrecognized.

You'll be much more likely to have success with the Brix BXi5H-5200 from Gigabyte. The Acer looks
nice but you'd be pretty much on your own trying to install and run OS X on it successfully.

thanks for the quick reply

i like the size of the brix but i realized that the link for the customac nano was not in the buyer's guide. Is there any reason for that?

i realized that certain brix model come with discrete GPU

is this unit hackable?

There has been success with the Haswell Brix. You can read this thread for more info:http://www.tonymacx86.com/mavericks...uide-gigabyte-brix-brix-pro-using-clover.html

Using Clover is required, you must also disable the CFG lock. Some have complained about the fan
noise in these when gaming so do your research on that before buying one. The Broadwell Brix would
be much quieter and use a lot less electricity from the wall. It's not in the Buyer's Guide yet but likely
will be eventually once there are more install guides for them and they prove themselves to run
stable and reliably over the long term.
