Hello Everyone,

I am planning on installing ML on my HP Probook but want to install the os on an ssd since I read it would be faster.

My question is this: Can I put the ssd on the 2nd drive ( I will be swapping the optical), and install OSX on the ssd while using the regular HDD for everything else including applications downloaded on OSX? I also plan to boot windows from the regular SSD.

BTW, I am new to the world of Hackintosh!

Thank You all for your input.

Yes, you just have to buy a HHD Caddy (about 15$). After installing the send HDD oder SDD you have to reset your BIOS and your Probook should find it (in Mac & Windows). You can even boot from the 2nd HDD if you want.

reset huh? i couldn't boot into osx until i disable boot dvd rom option from bios.
How did you do it as I see that you have an ssd installed?

Also, will all my programs (like FCPX) transfer over to the ssd after cloning?

i install a clean osx version on to the ssd, making it my primary storage.
after inserting the hdd in the bay area, you must uncheck the dvdrom boot priority from BIOS.

you should make the bay area a storage unit, once a while i get to slip the dvd-drive back in.

i can't speak for cloning, i never bother with that myself.
