Any such out of lease items that are smaller/ Tiny.. or Mini ITX/ Mini PC that might work?

Back in 2009, other than the Mac Mini there were not many NUC size PCs for sale. The smallest you can get is the Elite 8000 USDT that has a mini-itx size board. The problem is that there is no way to add a discrete graphics card. (no PCI-e slot) The X4500 HD graphics work but without acceleration and only up to 1024 X 768p. If you want Windows 10 on one of those it works great with integrated gfx (1080p).

The Elite 8000s, because of their age, are all being liquidated right now at low prices. They are just new enough to be able to run El Capitan and Windows 10. For El Capitan you'd have to use Enoch to install the OS. @jbamford has gotten it to work and written a guide on it. All older versions of OS X, starting with Snow Leopard through Yosemite, can be installed with the Multibeast / Chimera method.

Of course the 2009 and newer Mac Minis can run El Capitan if they have 2GB or more of ram. Sometimes
you can find one for sale under 200 USD but it's quite rare. Watch your local Craigslist and Ebay for that combination of low price and really good condition. Then again, if you want to do upgrades to the hardware the Elite 8000 SFF (desktop) is the way to go.

Did somebody manage to install Yosemite or El Capitan on original PovoMac? I built mine 4 years ago and it's still running Lion that I installed in the first place, thought about upgrading the CPU (could probably find i5 or i7 used relatively cheap) and freshening it up a little...

Yosemite should run fine. El Capitan may well be possible with most hardware. It will be easier with a motherboard that has a UEFI type BIOS. Most 6 series boards will need to have USB 3 disabled in the UEFI/BIOS.
There is some good links that will help listed towards the end of the installation guide.

Thank you very much :), will try in a few days... H61M-D2-B3 doesn't have USB3 so I should be fine as far as that is concerned. Buuut, no UEFI :/

Set it up to run OS X in legacy mode with a standard BIOS. I suggest that you update your profile to add the motherboard model. If you need any help then use the desktop support forum as it will be seen by more users.

It would be worth attempting a fresh installation, but keep your existing installation as a working backup in case you have further issues with the installation.

Good luck
