Hi All
so now I'm seeing that on each fresh reboot (from a no power from outlet start) that it gets to Loading Operating System..... and then it never loads. Once I press the power button again to restart it boots fine.
Will try new multibeast and change to Macpro instead of iMac

Run. Miltibeast and fix permissions and cache that fixed it for me

So my customac is working flawlessly except when ever I use ut*****t to download files it kernel panics every time. Has any body else experienced an issue when downloading t*****ts? Also my computer used to sleep and wake up reliably. Now it never wakes up. Has any one experienced this? Should I run easy beast again? Thank you to the community for all the fantastic help you provide. This build never would have been possible without your help!

I am using a bluetooth microsoft arc keyboard with usb bluetooth adapters and a microsoft mouse with another usb bluetooth adapter.

I have the same crashing problem with peer to peer downloads. I've never been able to solve it. It's my last remaining problem.

What network driver do you use?

I also had kernel panic using Facetime with Realtek Gigabit Ethernet 2.0.6 driver.
So I changed the network driver to Lnx2Mac's RealtekRTL81xx Ethernet
and have had no kernel panic.

DSDT makes customac #4 boot very very slowly

I build CustoMac #4.
EasyBeast Install made it fine.
Booting time is about 40sec after selecting OS.

But when I try to use UserDSDT install with DSDT-GA-X68-UD5-B3-F7.aml,
booting time is too long, about 2min 40sec.

About 45sec after, "slot: SLOT --1" appears then it seems almost stalled,
but waitin for long, about 1min, blue screen appears,
then more waiting about more 1min, I can get normal desktop.
After booting, it seems well.

Configuration is as below;
CPU: Intel Core i7 2600K 3.4G 8M
MB: Gigabyte GA-Z68X-UD5-B3(ATX)
Graphic card: ATI Radeon HD 6870 R6870 Twin Frozr II
RAM: Corsair Vergenece 1600MHz DDR3 16GB
Case&PSU: CoolerMaster Elite 371 500W
Optical Disk: IOData DVR-S7260LEBK
HDD:Hitachi HDS7219CLA332 1TB
CPU Fan: CoolerMaster VortexPlus RR-VTPS-28PK-R2

OS 10.6.8 (removing ACPI_SMC_PlatformPlugin.kext)
MultiBeaset
UserDSDT Install (GA-Z68X-UD5-B3-F7.aml)
System Utilities
ALC8xxHDA
AppleHDARollbak
Lnx2Mac RTL81xx
64 bit Apple Boot Screen
Generate CPU status

Hey,

If you follow the original post of this forum using easybeast you should be fine. I've tried several times with the custom DSTS file and never got it to work. The only problem I have is that right now I still have no sound.

I'm having problems with Dual Booting with Windows 7 and the sound on the system.

The problem is that when I dual boot with windows 7 as a separate drive the system some how doesn't recognize the additional 12gb ram in Mac.

Secondly I still can't get sound to work. Any help?

Hey!!

For thoose of you who are struggling with kernel panics while running t*****t programs. Install the Lnx2macs ethernet drivers! It´s the Realtek ones that are causing you kernel panics.

Awesome :D

After 3 (almost 4) weekends of futzing around with upgrading hardware for my Hackintosh, this guide FINALLY got me to a stable boot of SL 10.6.8.

Kudos, man.

Gigabyte GA-Z68XP-UD3
Intel Core i7-2600K
Corsair Vengeance 1600MHz 4x4GB

Confirmed working..

My specs :

Gigabyte GA-Z68XP-UD3 (F6)
Intel Core i7-2600K
Xfx Ati 5570 2gb

Edit

i have a small issue. It takes about a minute and a half to boot(grey screen). I have activated quick boot in the bios. boot priority is set to the only HDD i have!. any solutions?

Thanks.
