Yeah, I would try the latest driver here: https://bitbucket.org/RehabMan/os-x-realtek-network/downloads

I saw a recommendation that you remove any Ethernet entry from System Configuration / Network, then install the driver and reboot. If it doesn't automatically add a new entry after the reboot, try re-adding it manually.

The driver from RehabMan worked like a charm. Thanks a lot guys! :headbang:

Hello again ..

So far I was able to get things somewhat working .. but the integrated graphics don't work as they should .. is there any thread just about that Skylake integrated GPU?

Skylake Starter Guide

The problem is that Apple does not have good video drivers for the HD 530 in El Capitan.

Probably you should get an Nvidia card. You can get a GT 730 for $50 or less, or even a GT 610 if you don't want 4K support. (And a cheap 8111 PCIe Ethernet card, if that's also a dealbreaker for you.).

Hi ..

I was reading your post and wanted to know a few things .
If I go for the GT 610 .. for the time being until 530 gets a driver update from apple .. would it work with audio via HDMi ?

The built in graphics are clearly better than the 610 .. but for now I won't be doing any gaming.

and is there any thing I should be aware of ? I didn't want to waist money on an expensive GPU now since my plan is to get one late 2016 .

Also .. I was able to get ethernet working using kexts .. but I'm confused if its reliable .. should I also get the ethernet card for a more reliable experience?

Hey carsonp,

I noticed you wrote this:

Samsung SM951 (AHIC Version, not nvme. This is important)

I have a Question about the m.2 drive? Why is it important to get the AHIC version?

This is the drive I was going to order, but I ended up not ordering when I seen you post:

Hi,

I think this was before drivers were available for the NVMe version of the Samsung SM951 under OS X, so the only way to have it work natively on your hackintosh was to use the AHCI version of the drive. At least, that's my own understanding.

Now a driver has been released for NVMe M.2 drives under OS X by JimJ at MacVidCards. There's a whole thread about this on the Tonymacx86 web-site:
http://www.tonymacx86.com/general-h...ver-nvme-m-2-solid-state-drives-released.html

If you look at the first post in the thread, it states "We've tested using the M.2 Samsung 950 Pro and the SM951 NVMe drives with success in OS X". The second post shows wildwillow using it successfully with an ASUS Z170 'board, along with their comparison with the AHCI version. They also add the disclaimer "Please take into account that the NVME drive isn't natively supported". The drivers are here if you need them.

Also make sure you have the correct M.2 slot on your motherboard. From the thread above: "Please note, some M.2 slots are keyed only for SATA and PCIe devices, and cannot accept NVMe devices. The most common SSD slot types are Type B or M for SATA drives; type M for PCIe or NVMe drives. "

Sweet thanks for the heads up,

I'm thinking about one of these motherboards: http://www.gigabyte.us/press-center/news-page.aspx?nid=1399

with the Samsung 950 pro m.2(I would like to run 2 950 pro's in raid 0) it is possible in these GA Z170x mobo's, and of course skylake 6700k, RAM (waiting on this kit to get released): http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820232208 , and the GTX 980 TI Hybrid.

Should be good to go on any of the Gigabyte GA Z170x Gaming boards. OR the Intel 750's raid 0 in these slots.

Hi,

I tried installing 10.10.2 on my config:
Intel 6700K processor, Z170-D3H Gigabyte motherboard, Gigabyte GTX 970 G1.

I have updated the bios to the f4 version and tried to have all settings as in the previous threads. I mostly followed carson's tutorial.

I copied his config.plist. I get stuck when booting from the stick the OS is loading, the logo appears so does the bar. The bar fills up eventually but then it just stays there, I don't get to the step to choose the language.

I am fairly new to this, do you have any advice?

Thank you,

P.S.:
When in verbose mode this is what I keep getting, the text does not stop:
