Hi - sorry for the late reply but I did not visit the site recently
I am not sure that I understand your question - What you mean by CPU Tuning and Binaries Patching? The only fix that is needed 5820k is the VoodoTSync with modified count of cores (I believe it is attached in my zip files) - If...
Hmmm. This new clover is "small in size"... Maybe this is normal but have you tried the 3773? Check this "success" with same CPU but different board (ignore the 2 GPU stuff - you should be fine with your nVidia)

Hi malki
I used this link http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/314406-voodoohda-289/
Just first remove the old Voodoo if you installed it and then put the kext to the Clover partition (in this way you will have better control when to load it ;). For the Static sound from voodoo - I can say...
Hi malki
I don know do you remember me but I remember you because we both share the "nightmare of x99-ud4" :)
So don't listen to the "guru" (just joking) the x99-ud4 is "usable" with 10.12. I even managed to booth using 2 GPUs (but disabling the "not supported" 290x). So I strongly recommend to...
I was thinking about the same way - to force 7000 so I always load before 8000 and making 8000 to fail (this is my target - to block 8000 from loading - I want 290x to become "unavailable" for the system - I am happy with only AMD 7850 (the purpose of 290x is gaming in W10)
Unfortunately...
I use v 3773. I am sure that I modify the correct config.plist file because other changes are "fine". But unfortunately currently there is no way to "block" AMD8000Controller.kext from loading
Hi Thanks for the input. Yep there is a "disable" checkbox but I thought that this disables the "patch kext rule" - not "loading of the entire kext. Are you sure that "disable" is for the whole kext?
Checked. "Disable" is for the actual change in kext - in fact if I only define the kext and...
Hi
Finally I managed to setup my x99-ud4, 5820k, 290x + AMD 7850 to install and boot Sierra (I will write a guide soon because it is really nightmare to do this install without iGPU)
Now the issue is that I want to disable a kext to be loaded by the system - just like clover can disable nVidia...
Usually all "cheap" (price range 5-15 $) USB cards will work (based on C-Media). I have 2 external USB sound cards - 1 Berlinger 222 (something like this - a red box) and Ausu u7 (I think) both works in MacOS without issues (but the Asus have issues in W10 so better to avoid it). Actually I...
Yep this is hack issue...
To make the case worse I should say that now I lost my "power" an no longer can boot even with "broken drivers" into Sierra. If I inject ATI in clover now instead of booting to Sierra the PC reboots and enters windows. So there is something really strange here... I am...
Same case here - I have 290x (no longer supported OOB) but I somehow managed too boot my x99-ud4 with dual graphics (5770+290x) but...with issues. I have to "inject ATI device ID - any value works" to force the Sierra to NOT load any drivers for AMD and enter desktop - of course now my 290x...
Yes it works
No issues with 10.11.6 - even succeeded to do dual graphics boot with this "hard to boot with multiple PCIe" MB (x99-ud4)
I will post more details about the config in Sierra thread - because I "almost" succeeded to boot with Sierra...
Hi all
I want to report that I get good performance (multicore ~19000, stock speed) by just using the FakeCPUID = 0x0306E0 and clock speed config - The initial assumption that the bad performance is due to XCHI, EHCI, AHCI stuff on the x99 is not true anymore (at least with 10.11.5).
Update:
It looks like the kext and extra config (patching several kexts, disabling drivers, etc) in hdd_boot.zip is not needed anymore for good performance of the x99 + 5820 (stock clock). All that matters is the FakeCPUID and the CPU clock speed in config.plist - using only those I get...
My board is without BT / WiFi
Currently I am very happy with it's performance in 10.11.5 (geek bench around 19000 on stock clocks with on board audio working - thanks to voodooHDA)
Update - clean install with 10.11.5 using the same kext and config.plist (clover 3543)
On board audio works with VoodooHDA - see attachment for correct configuration
Hi @malki & all
Quick update for my success with clean 10.11.5 install using latest clover bootloader
system - in my signature
drivers -> test2.efi & OsxAptioFix2Drv-64.efi (and the usual stuff)
kext & config.plist -> from my thread about clean 10.11.4 install
Audio -> ON BOARD is working ...
I think 22k mark for stock 5820k(and stock memory) is "too high" - in my stock 5820k I get something about 19k
By just doing the math about stock 5820k at 3.3ghz and "super clocked" to 4.5 we have
4.5 ghz / 3.3 ghz = 1.363 * 19k ~ 26k
If you have 22250 at stock then you should get above...
