    Article: OS X 10.9.1 Update ok, after the hang, i had to do a manual reboot then I copied the installer from the combo dmg to the desktop and tried again. it worked in 3 mins + reboot + repair permissions etc etc. all good. Thanks for the help!

    Calling all Gigabyte GA-Z87X-OC owners:-)

    ensure ehci and xhci are both enabled in the bios on your Mobo. that solved a similar issue for me on a z87x-d3h... not the same board but those settings make a difference for usb functionality. at the minimum it is something to try.
