No apology necessary, I appreciate you taking the time to detail your solution.
I am still trying to get Catalina running.
I upgraded my El Capitan-based build from a(n unsupported) 9800GT to GT 710, built a USB Installer using my current DSDT + Updated Kexts and Clover, and was able to boot...
I have a similar system I am looking to upgrade (P55A-UD4P), would you mind posting which Kexts and Patches were required.
Thanks in advance. Hard to believe these old systems can still run the latest Mac OS
I have just purchased a GT710 and am currently waiting to take delivery. Luckily I don't use Kodi so hopefully everything works 100%.
As for system definitions, I am still on MacPro 3.1 on El Capitan but plan on using iMac 11.3 (closest to my i5 system) rather than iMac 14.2 for my Sierra/High...
So does that mean to use the GT 710 under Sierra/High Sierra I would need to:
- Boot with nv_disable=1 (and no nvda_drv),
- Download the NVIDIA Web Driver and install,
- Change nv_disable=1 to nvda_drv=1 and reboot (without inject_nvidia)?
Hi,
I am currently using a Gigabyte GT9800 Silent Cell GFX card on my Hackintosh using Inject nVidia = true in Clover (specs in sig), but am stuck on El Capitan due to the lack of support for the 9800GT in Sierra and High Sierra.
I am looking for the cheapest GFX card that will offer support...
Congratulations. Would you mind posting the contents of your EFI folder (minus themes) so I can see what kexts you used and your config.plist?
From my research it seems that there is no way to get the Renesas USB 3.0 ports active in Sierra so it is lucky you have an alternative. I am just going...
Hi Rocknrolla, I am also using a P55 series motherboard and am trying to install Sierra. Would you mind taking a look at my DSDT and make sure I have made these edits correctly. Thanks
Have you got Hackintosh I (i7 860) running 10.12.6?
I have a P55A-UD4P running an i5 750 and have not been able to get Sierra installed yet, just wanted to see how you managed it.
I have recently been doing some more investigation into getting my hackintosh running Sierra ahead of the release of High Sierra, and it seems that my 9800GT is no longer supported under Sierra. This could be the reason I was not able to upgrade from El Capitan successfully. Now need to decide...
Would you mind attaching a copy of your config.plist file. I have a P55A-UD4P and have been unable to succesfully upgrade to Sierra. Keep getting kernel panics loading the installer. Thanks
It seems weird that you have both Nvidia Injection and Drivers enabled. Did you require both of these boot flags to run the Sierra Installer, and are they both required to successfully boot Sierra (i.e. can you remove one and still boot)?
I have a similar board to you (P55A-UD4P) and have been unable to successfully install Sierra so far using either the Direct Install method or using a UniBeast created USB. Can you please tell me what boot flags you used to get the USB Installer to run the Sierra Installer, and any modifications...
Would you mind posting the contents of your EFI/CLOVER folder minus themes as a .zip. I have a similar Mobo (GA-P55A-UD4P) and am having trouble installing. Was hoping to compare the contents of your successful install folder to troubleshoot.
Thanks in advance
Thanks heaps.
I will have to sit down and compare the config.plist you posted to my own and see if there are any major differences.
Like yourself the only kexts in my kexts/Other folder are FakeSMC and RealtekRTL8111.
Congratulations.
Would you mind posting the contents of your EFI/CLOVER folder (minus themes) as a .zip so I can check the contents and possibly use them for my install. I have a P55A-UD4P and have not been able to boot the Sierra Installer either.
Thanks in advance
