Yes my setup also has this problem and I haven't had time to deal with it yet but I am kind of okay with it since I use an SSD for my OS X and it takes literally not more than maybe 30 sec to boot the machine up. So I rather turn off the computer instead of putting it to sleep.
Thank you for the advice and I am sure I will do more testing as I want to understand this more. So, presently I now have a working High Sierra ASUS R4E. o1ie has the same MoBo ASUS R4E and same CPU i7 3930K and he sent me his EFI folder. Since he upgraded his machine from Sierra to High Sierra...
Excellent. I might just use that + my apfs.efi driver that I have and see if I can go further to implement speedstep then I report back to you and in case I am successful I will send you my speedstepp capable EFI fro High Sierra. :)
I checked the UEFI drivers in the EFI folder you sent me as your working EFI and I see you don't have the apfs.efi driver in there but only the HFSplus-64.efi perfectly explains that indeed you have updated your Sierra to High Sierra. So if I will be able to create a speedstepp capable EFI...
So I tried the Installer EFI but since its config.plist was indicating osx I changed it to Mac OS. Then I put two EFI Drivers the apfs.efi and the ApfsDriverLoader-64.efi into the /EFI/CLOVER/drivers64UEFI folder so the Clover Boot loader this way could recognize the APFS file system since my...
Is it the Installer EFI or is it the EFI from the actual HD to where High Sierra is already installed? If it is the installer EFI then I don;t think I can use this as I would need the EFI folder from the High Sierra system hard drive the hard drive where the actual operating system is already...
Hi shilohh, so I downloaded your ASUS R4E build folder and grabbed the corresponding ACPI files and the config.plist and used them in my EFI folder but unfortunately no luck. USB is still not working at the High Sierra Login window, making it impossible to login.
Now, I am wondering if I would...
o1ie, do you know how to get to the EFI folder? It is easy.
1. Open Terminal and type the following:
sudo mkdir /Volumes/EFI
than hit return or enter than it will ask you to type in your admin password then hit enter again.
It will create an EFI Volume.
Leave Terminal open.
2. Now open your...
Also what version of BIOS are you using with your ASUS R4E? Mine is version 4901. Maybe that is the problem as shilohh mentioned it with his build to go back to 4206 or something but not the newest.
Yes, thank you! I would really appreciate it if you could send me your EFI folder as I am still experimenting and the furthest I could go is the login window but no USB input possible. So please send me your EFI and I will report back with the result.
Thank you!

Hey o1ie, can you help me out here on how did you manage you ASUS High Sierra to work?
So, I am trying to build a High Sierra ASUS R4E with BIOS version 4901, i7 3930k CPU and GTX 770 video card. OS X 10.13.4 is already installed and the machine boots, however when the boot process reaches the...
Hi shilohh and others, this is my very first post here. I am trying to build a High Sierra ASUS R4E with BIOS version 4901, i7 3930k and GTX 770. OS X 10.13.4 is already installed and the machine boots, however when the boot process reaches the login window I can't do anything as none of the USB...
