With a working Fusion and Mavericks set-up, I don't want to take the risk of this. I went six weeks without a bootable computer until Mavericks came along.
However, I also welcome the first step towards supporting Fusion drives, if that what it is albeit inadvertently. It could be a decade or...
Sorry but I find that reply astonishingly ignorant and totally misguided. Please allow me to explain.
1) All new (real) Macs will either be SSD-only or Fusion Drive very soon. That is 100%, not a low proportion.
2) Apple's SSD+HD solution is widely accepted as being the most intelligent and...
Article: UniBeast: Install OS X Mavericks on Any Supported Intel-based PC
And this is the first time I have not had any installation issues! Also the first time I could boot pre-Multibeast without using -x safe mode. Ethernet works natively (i.e. without a kext) for the first time, audio...
Core Storage creates hidden boot partitions on each physical drive. Multibeast does not copy the required boot files to these separate partitions hence it does it make the combined Fusion Drive bootable.
It must only be a small mod but it would be much appreciated. It is easy to make a mistake...
Would there be any chance of supporting Fusion Drive configurations in a future release of Multibeast? As far as I understand, this involves copying Chimera's boot0 to the Master Boot Record of each constituent physical drive and boot1h, boot and the Extra folder to the hidden boot partitions of...
Similar problems here. I physically disconnected my two HDs and pulled out the graphics card to eliminate some of the confusion. I did a fresh install to the SSD but still could only boot in safe mode (-x).
Having spent most of last week trying and retrying to get 10.8.5 running on my Haswell...
I will try to explain my experience today without crying.
Just now, I am mightily relieved to be back to 10.8.4 and a working computer.
I was prepared to be as drastic as I had to be to get 10.8.5 working today. I wiped my Fusion drive, made a clean installation, but no boot under any...

Thanks, yes. Corrected.

Article: OS X 10.8.5 Update
Thank you and done! That was another 2 days spent on this since my last post. I have made some useful progress but experiencing weird behaviour and this particular Haswell system is far from well.
I am at last able to boot 10.8.5 (yippee!!!) but the process is...
Article: OS X 10.8.5 Update
I tried to update my Haswell system again yesterday and today following the above by the book. Having made a new USB install drive for 10.8.5 and removed the GenericUSBXHCI.kext from it, the only way I could boot from the USB drive was using -x. Then I lost use of...
Article: Update Your OS X Mountain Lion App to 10.8.5
I have had enough of these minor updates that cause so much consternation and distress. Let us just have Mac OS XI with parallel functional programming now.
As a result of carefully following the instructions to update to 10.8.5 I could no...
Article: OS X 10.8.5 Update
It appears the main compatibility issues are with Haswell systems and that the 10.8.5 update is not for them - certainly in its present form. There are a couple of reports of success with a hybrid 10.8.4/10.8.5 OS on Haswell systems but I have had a day of pain...
Well here is an odd one. My previous post mentioned that the 10.8.5 update broke my Gigabyte H87-HD3/4570 Haswell system - it simply froze on the Apple logo boot screen. So I booted from a recovery partition and restored the previous System folder from the backup I made just before the update...
The update broke my Core i5 4570/Gigabyte H87-HD3 system. I had been running 10.8.4 courtesy of the Haswell Helper method - though having a Fusion drive complicated the procedure lots. I followed the instructions in post no. 2 to the T but it now gets stuck on the Apple logo screen at boot...
I have just installed a discrete GPU and had a rough time getting to boot other than using built-in graphics, interrupting the bootloader and typing GraphicsEnabler=No each time. No amount of reinstalling and fiddling with org.chameleon.Boot.plist would change the behaviour. It was as if Chimera...
I am running a 4570 on a Gigabyte H87-HD3 motherboard. I have found the key value for HD4600 is 0c260000.
Having installed Chimera 2.2 and added the lines to org.chameleon.Boot.plist:
<key>IGPlatformID</key>
<string>0c260000</string>
Result? No difference. The display resolution...
Article: HaswellHelper: Enhanced 10.8.4 Kernel Now Available
Try taking out the graphics card - that is the only major difference to my setup. I too got stuck on the Apple startup screen but in my case it was because I hadn't applied the Haswell Helper patch. If removing the graphics card...
Also working - many thanks! Mine is an attempt at a best bang per buck set-up and the exact like of which I could not find recommended anywhere as a potential Hackintosh candidate. I was prepared to use Linux so the risk was not great. I am immensely relieved however that 10.8.4 is running...
