This is my first Hackintosh build, I've been trying to get everything hardware related to work the last few days and the system seems pretty stable for now. The only things I still haven't been able to fix is HDMI audio and sleep.

So I wanted to install Sierra on my ASUS UX501VW too but I haven't even been able to boot the installer.
What did you do to get it to boot and how did you set up your USB stick? And which UEFI settings did you use?
If I try to start the installer with dart=0 and nv_disable=1 it won't boot and...
Yeah I checked this topic and at the bottom it says acceleration doesn't work and even though the guy in the other post got it to work, I don't know what he did to get it to work.
I also can't inject fake IDs or DSDTs since I don't use any custom bootloader like Clover, just the default VMware...
So I'm running a virtual macOS installation with Sierra on my ESXi host with GPU passthrough.
The thing is, my current AMD Radeon HD5450 doesn't work with Sierra anymore so I have to look for a new graphics card. It worked fine with El Captain btw so I know my setup works.
I've laid my eyes on...
Well I deleted the MSR partition with diskpart and resized the EFI partition to 300MB, but disk utility still hangs when I try to create the Mac OS Extended (Journaled) partition..
I also tried to create a HFS+ partition with GParted, the OS X installer also recognized it but when I tried to...
Indeed it would make my life really easier, but I don't have a second SSD and I really am to stingy to buy a second one.. :D
Also there would be enough space on my current SSD, so I really wanted to use that space.
But yeah, seems like this really won't work. But thanks for that...
Hi,
I wanted to accomplish a EFI-ONLY dual boot with Clover on my ASUS Maximus VI Hero on the same drive.
To be more specific, I want to use the Windows Bootmanager as primary bootloader to chainload Clover which will load Yosemite.
The reason why it has to be EFI-ONLY is, that I have to...
It's pretty easy to chainload, I just create a new entry with EasyBCD which loads the EFI files from the OSX EFI partition which contains the Clover files. But since I can't even install OS X and Windows to the same drive I can't accomplish this..
Thanks, sadly I already crawled through the whole internet and with every dual booting guide, they use hybrid MBR partition tables, also in the guide you posted, but I have to boot the Windows installer in legacy mode to install it to a hybrid MBR partition, the Windows EFI installer wouldn't...
I used diskpart but that doesn't help. It's not about formatting, it DOES format, but it won't install, it creates all the NTFS partitions but the error message appears when it tries to start the installation.
Instead when I delete the HFS+ partitions and try to install Windows it works without...
Alright I'm going to shoot myself now.
I want to use Windows in UEFI mode and then I wan't to use the Windows Bootmanager to chainload Clover. I won't use legacy because this doesn't solve my problem, it's only a workaround. Even IF it works to boot legacy with a UEFI bootloader, it's not a...
I said I disabled CSM which forces me to use UEFI so I can't use legacy!!!
I'm sorry for acting like a douche but this is the third time now, that you didn't even read what I said. :-x
And it is still wrong, formatting a partition to FAT with Disk Utility will create a Hybrid MBR partition table.
You can't install an EFI Windows to an MBR partitioned drive. And I can't use MBR partition tables because I disabled CSM which forces me to use UEFI which means I have to use GPT...
You can't mark a partition as active with GPT partition tables, this is an MBR "feature"... Also you can't create an NTFS partition with the Disk Utility.
Edit: What I haven't tried is, to use GParted to create a HFS+ partition and then install OS X to that partition, would that be possible? Do...
