You little ripper! This fix here solved that problem for me: http://www.tonymacx86.com/general-help/91322-chimera-usb-works-fine-clover-ehci-error-no-usb.html#post561138

I can't find a way to add boot flags ad-hoc while using Clover. I can see you can edit the config file, but is there a way to ad a flag ad-hoc? I can get to the desktop with Clover (it boots really fast actually) but I just don't have any USB ports working. I'll keep digging. Thanks for...

Would this be something like the solution I need? sudo rm -r /System/Library/Extensions/AppleHPET.kext - See more at: http://blog.waldrondigital.com/2012/08/02/some-usb-ports-not-working-on-hackintosh-fixed/#sthash.XQzsICkU.dpuf Rather hard without a keyboard, would have to boot with the...

I thought that was going to be it, but unfortunately found "USB Legacy" Enabled in the BIOS :(

No luck trying that idea. I'll do some more searching on the Z77N-WIFI motherboard I am using and USB in general (tried plugging in a thumbdrive and no power to it)

Thanks Going Bald. I am pretty sure the keyboard was in a USB slot near the PS/2 ports, but not the mouse. I'll check that again when I get home. I didn't have this problem booting from the Multibeast install USB drive though, although I had to boot in SafeMode (-x ?) :)

Awesome. That worked. Clover lists both OSs there. Ubuntu boots fine. Selecting the "AppleMac" install boots up very quickly, but my USB mouse doesn't have any power to it. I guess this is now more specifics to the Z77N-WIFI motherboard I am using. I need to research that and find out what...

Ahh never mind me, it's on the page after that, when pressing Continue. How did I miss that!?!? http://f.cl.ly/items/0p3I3s3V1t190S2Z2h1z/clover_installer_2.jpg

I am having trouble with this unfortunately. The installer doesn't match the how to for me; I don't have a Customise option. See screenshot. http://wstaw.org/m/2014/08/14/plasma-desktopll3532.png Any help appreciated. Thanks.

Oh really? How did I do that? I installed Clover from the Mac OS install. Interesting indeed. Correct. Grub is installed at the root of the disk, not the Ubuntu partition. But selecting 'ubuntu' from the motherboards boot menu boots the Ubuntu install no problems. I'll do that now...

Going Bald, Thanks for the response. The Linux distro is not showing up. All I have is one icon on the Clover boot list. See this image for what Clover is showing me. (I am running Clover from a small USB thumbdrive) http://wstaw.org/m/2014/08/12/plasma-desktopMk3592.png If I select...

Thanks for the response RehabMan Apologies for breaching rules. I have removed that. I do think I need to do some work on the Mac install, but it is bootable, so I thought I would get the dual booting all working and then fine tune the Mac install to workout this SafeMode issue. I have...

Thanks. I am trying Clover now. It shows a Mac OS Icon to boot that, but that is all. There is no Ubuntu icon (assume I need to manually add that to the config somewhere?) and even selecting the Mac install eventually fails. When using the Multibeast (or was it UniBeast?) USB, I am using the -x...

    Grub2, Mavericks, Ubuntu 14.04, GPT disk, GA-Z77N

Thanks for the article. It is similar to what I had done. Thanks though. I am trying alternative methods now, but will no success. I didn't know getting a Hackintosh to dual boot would be so hard. http://www.tonymacx86.com/multi-booting/139071-refind.html#post854333

How to dual boot Mavericks and 14.04 Hi, After I haven't to get dual booting using grub2 http://www.tonymacx86.com/multi-booting/138790-grub2-mavericks-ubuntu-14-04-gpt-disk-ga-z77n.html I am now trying rEFInd. But no easy feat. I have posted over on the rEFInd sourceforge page the...

    Grub2, Mavericks, Ubuntu 14.04, GPT disk, GA-Z77N

Thank for the response. Both OSs are on the same drive. I would like to stick with Grub2 if I could. GPT disk. Something installed a small 200MB partition at the start, then a hfplus partition followed by an ext4 partition. I can get and paste the full layout if needed. Thanks.

Hi all, I've been trying to get this to work for a year now, on and off, searching, trial and lots of error. I have posted here where I am currently at https://plus.google.com/110326043043161674953/posts/1B5tNS52uEP Grub is the bootloader for the SSD which holds Mavericks and Ubuntu...

    10.8.3 Won't Boot GA Z77N wifi i7 3770k no graphic card

I have the exact same hardware and have too found out the hard way that you can't use a DVI-VGA adaptor without random failed boots etc. I did get a long way using that though. My issue is similiar...now I have 10.8.3 installed, I can't boot unless I use -x (A graphics limited boot mode?) The...
