<< Solved >> Opening JPEG files in Preview or Quick Look crashes or fails to load

Maybe they fixed it in newer rev's of Gigabyte boards, I know that the Haswell (Z/H87/97) boards have a few weird things with the UEFI firmware since it was the second year that they had generally switched from BIOS to UEFI.

<< Solved >> Opening JPEG files in Preview or Quick Look crashes or fails to load

Been installing Windows as UEFI for two years now. Once I boot into Windows and disable the HD 4600 in Device Manager it works just fine. If it is enabled I have to boot using the Windows Boot Manager entry in my BIOS (Gigabyte).

<< Solved >> Opening JPEG files in Preview or Quick Look crashes or fails to load

I list this as an option to fix as well if anyone wants to leave their iGPUs disabled. @pastrychef Another one of the reasons I posted this was for my note at the bottom, as I had to figure out that step on my own and it involved multiple wipes and reloads... Hopefully my bit about...

<< Solved >> Opening JPEG files in Preview or Quick Look crashes or fails to load

I didn't find much about this issue on the internet (and this information would have saved me a lot of reimaging due to my dual boot setup), but there are two fixes to this problem that appears to be new with 10.14 Mojave. With this issue, any JPEG will not open in Preview or Quick Look. The...

What was your primary reason for building a hackintosh?

I had pretty current gen Macs at the time I built my first Hackintosh. I had a MacBook Pro 2011 13", my family had some white MacBooks, and we had a 2007 20" Aluminum iMac. However, I wanted to get into PC building. I built my first PC and tried to Hackintosh it, but I had obscenely long boot...

    Ersterhernd's NUCiMac G4

Hi ersterhernd, Quick question: Do you know if there is any significant size difference between the D34010WYK1 and the DC3217BY? Looked, but can't find dimensions online. Thanks.

    HWSensors with Clover

I noticed that with iStat Menus, it only shows my drive temperatures. I looked for a way to install HWSensors to the EFI partition but could not find a way. Has anyone here found success with installing all the HWSensors to the EFI partition?

    Ersterhernd's NUCiMac G4

17 inch 800MHz, identical to yours. The neck I found is $34.60 USD on eBay.

    Ersterhernd's NUCiMac G4

Three questions about the iMac G4 neck: 1. My display is very loose, if opening up the base and tightening the screws near the vent doesn't work, would buying a replacement neck fix the issue? 2. Would buying an extra neck be worth it just in case of a failure or something? I found one for just...

    Ersterhernd's NUCiMac G4

Hi, I have a question about the LCD wiring, now that you put in the edit. Is it still necessary to order a second iMac G4 neck if I don't want to do any splicing, or does this method fix that? Thanks.

    Ersterhernd's NUCiMac G4

OK, thank you. Could I PM you about a Google Sheet I want to share? It is my parts list with rough prices (taxes+shipping slightly inaccurate) and I don't want to enable editing for anyone with the link. For now, I have enabled viewing...

    Ersterhernd's NUCiMac G4

I guess, it was just that the rest were 1/x, so I thought maybe you made a typo. Where should I buy shrink tubing from? I want to make sure I get high quality parts for this mod, as I want to minimize all possible causes for failure.

    Ersterhernd's NUCiMac G4

Thank you, will make sure to thank minihack when I start my own thread. Is there anything I could possibly subtract from my Pololu cart? This will be the only mod I ever do, so I don't need so many spares. Parts list you posted a while ago is attached for convenience. Thanks for all your help!

    Ersterhernd's NUCiMac G4

Hi Ersterhernd, As I excitedly get ready for my build, I am ordering preliminary parts. I have ordered the TMDS to DVI converter, and I have a Pololu cart set up, but not ordered yet (since it's really expensive!). I just wanted to check with you to see if the transistor I have below will work...

    Ersterhernds iMac G5 20 Inch A1076 Project

Just got one of my expert hardware friends on board for a mod, so I'm going to team up with him and do a 17" iMac G4. The hinge is a little loose, but the machine is still beautiful! Really excited to start it (although might not start until December or April, depending on our schedules).

    Ersterhernds iMac G5 20 Inch A1076 Project

Yet another awesome build from you. My plans to mod my G4 over the summer fell through, as I simply do not have the expertise and patience necessary to complete this. Although you did not post the OS X Installation process yet, did you use Clover, Chimera or Chameleon? Also, why not go with...
