Removing the AppleHDA898.kext and rebooting resolved the problem, thank you! Do you know if there is a workaround for the popping I get before sound plays? It almost sounds like the audio bus needs to initialize. I remember seeing this once with Multibeast in the past and the solution was to...
Hi toleda,
I too am getting no sound devices in Yosemite. Here are the answers to your questions as well as required screenshots.
1. No audio devices showing up in System Preferences > Sound
2. Yosemite 10.10/GIGABYTE GA-Z77X-UD5H w/ F14 BIOS/Intel 3770/Intel i7-3770k/NVidia GTX670

Hey there Supacon,
I know this doesn't help solve your problem, but I am using the same motherboard and Clover and am curious how you got sound to work at all? I did a clean install of Yosemite from USB and have most everything working but sound. At this point I am still booting from the USB...
I am also having the same problem.
It started a couple of weeks ago, and all of my other devices are working fine. Mac Mini, iPad, and iPhone. I hope someone finds an answer soon.
I have the same card and close to the same motherboard. I have the Thunderbolt version. It works perfectly in Windows, so I really think it's a driver problem. I would hate to have to get a new card, but may have to.
I just did some testing with Wireshark, and what I'm seeing is affecting more than just traffic in YouTube. I noticed that with YouTube, it is having to reassemble a high percentage of the packets due to fragmentation. This does not happen when I switch to the TP-Link wireless card I bought...
I tried this, and it seemed to help a bit, but it is still a problem. It still takes a few seconds to start buffering YouTube despite wireless doing it almost instantly. In addition, the thumbnails to the right for the related videos are still blacked out. Thanks for the info regardless...
That's a good question, and I don't know what the answer is long term. For now I am just using a screen saver. Perhaps some of the more technical folks can suggest some logs we could provide that might help find a long term solution to this issue.
I'm curious, how are your Energy Saver settings set? I've set both to never sleep and I've not had a crash since. The last two crashes I had were after the display went to sleep.
I am seeing the same issue with my GTX560 Ti and GA-Z77X-UP5TH. It has happened three times in Mountain Lion, and not at all in Windows even after playing a 3D game for 8+ hours straight. I am wondering if there is a driver issue.
Yes, I should add it only affects Safari and not Chrome for me as well.
Is there any data that we can collect that will help get this issue resolved? I am still perplexed.
I am seeing this same problem on my newly built Hackintosh with an EVGA 560TI. So far it has only happened in Mountain Lion. I've played some games under Windows for 8+ hours and it doesn't have an issue. I don't think it's the card if it isn't happening in Windows.
Hi All,
I just recently built a Hackintosh using a Gigabyte Z77X-UP5TH for the motherboard. I followed Alfa's guide followed by a separate run of the 5.02 version of Multibeast for full Mountain Lion support. I am seeing a really strange issue with the on board NIC. When I attempt to watch...
