    Really stupid question

Hi thanks for your response. I connected my MBP HD to the hack via sata and then copied and pasted the files to a save osx writable HD also connected via sata. To do this I mounted the drive but did not attempt to boot from it. I double checked that I was copying from the right folders, so I...

    Really stupid question

Hi guys, this is probably a really stupid question, but I managed to crash my seagate momentus XT hybrid drive in my MacBook Pro and disk utility couldn't repair it so I took out the drive and attached it to my hackintosh to back up the data from all the folders. I then wiped the partition on...

Can't open system preferences after 10.8.2 update

Now I've updated to 10.8.2 I deleted the OEMSMBIOS file to get it to boot but now System preferences freezes whenever I click on it. I have to force close it. Has anybody else seen this before as a google search proved fruitless. Not sure how to diagnose issues like this, I'm used to it just...

    Really weird problem

Ah ok, I thought that Chameleon and Chimera were basically the same thing and these tools (simply graphical configurators) could be used on both because somebody on here suggested it! So doesn't *Chimera* installed as part of Multibeast install the org.chameleon.boot.plist file? Confused...:eh:

How to upgrade from BIOS to UEFI on Gigabyte's 6-series motherboards

I have the same problem as somebody above that while the install is all fine and working, to even get the OSX hard disk SSD to boot, I have to keep pressing F12 at boot. When I look in boot options, there does not exist a "Px" option for the OSX SSD, only for the windows one! I only get a "UEFI"...

    ML Boot Screen Flashes, Reboots

I had what sounds like similar problem. I booted from the unibeast usb, then started terminal. I copied the org.Chameleon.boot.plist and smbios.plist files from teh USB to the Extra folder in your install, repaired he permissions using Diskutility and it booted again. See here...

    Really weird problem

I am having an issue with Chameleon at the moment whereby if i make any changes to the chameleon.plist (sorry not the full name!) using a wizard like Chameleon wizard or Champlist it causes the machine to not boot. When I say not boot, I mean that it won't boot in safe mode, single user mode...

    Cannot boot after installing 10.8.1

The problem turned out to be fixable by booting from the unibeast stick, starting up terminal, renaming the chameleon.plist and the smboot.plist to bak files and then copying them back off of the USB. I was surprised to find that this was caused NOT by the update to 10.8.1 but by the chameleon...

    Cannot boot after installing 10.8.1

I've tried GraphicsEnabler=No and that won't boot either...I'm going to try booting from the Unibeast USB stick tonight and replacing the chameleon bootlist and smbios files with the USB ones. as a last ditch attempt to fix it. Cheers, Robin!

    Cannot boot after installing 10.8.1

Ok, so I installed the 10.8.1 update from the app store, it restarted, and now I can't boot. All it does is come to the chimera v1.11.1 r1394 screen and then flash up a multicoloured rectangle it the top left of the screen and then it reboots. Trying to boot in safe mode, single user mode fails...

    GA-Z68MX-UD2H-B3 New EFI

So if this dsdt is for this board and bios revision, how come it causes me a kernel panic? I literally just have the kb, mouse, and no other peripherals (inc graphics card) installed. Seems weird!:P

    GA-Z68MX-UD2H-B3 New EFI

Ok, so I set the Igp gfx as enabled and to be initiated first, and also changed the cables on hd's disconnecting all others but the ssd. ML boots after install, but then I run multibeast and install the DSDT and repair the perms (is that right?) but after reboot I get a kernel panic on boot...

    GA-Z68MX-UD2H-B3 New EFI

Hmm, where is the HPET setting in the bios? It's not under power management I don't think, unless it's under the first page somewhere (MIT settings) I can't find it. I was semi kidding about missing IDE devices, I sure don't miss those cables! I'm aware that the HDD doesn't take advantage of...

    GA-Z68MX-UD2H-B3 New EFI

Yes that is exactly how I have the HDD configured currently. As my OSX SSD does not support SATA3 (oddly the 2TB HD does 'support' SATA3 even if it might not use the bandwidth) I thought plugging it into the SATA2 ports would suffice, but will give it a try! I miss being able to set slave...

    GA-Z68MX-UD2H-B3 New EFI

Thanks for the tips, and I didn't know the bios was still in beta. I have one ssd (windows) on the native intel 6GB controller and one 2TB hd on the other 6GB intel connector. My osx ssd is connected to the 3GB intel SATA connector. This setup worked with relatively little tweaking in Lion after...

    GA-Z68MX-UD2H-B3 New EFI

I'm really confused here! I've created the bootable USB for mountain lion and installed it, but it won't even boot without being in "-x -v GraphicsEnabler=no" parameters. This is on BIOS U1C with what I think are the correct bios settings on the Z68MX-UD2H-B3. It seems really weird that some...

Slow Ethernet internet access after update to 10.7.4

I updated to 10.7.4 using the combo updater then ran multi beast to replace the correct kexts, and now my ethernet connection to the internet is really slow! To give you an idea, it was going at a constant 1.3MB/s to download the combo, and now if I try and do so, I'm lucky to get 30KB/s. ANyone...
