Hope I can help. I have only just seen your posting and hope I'm not too late to the party.
My main computer is a 2006 Mac Pro and I do play a fair bit of Skyrim on it.
Firstly I have had serve trouble trying to install Windows 7 on it and in the end I gave up. I have installed Mountain Lion...
Well I now have Mountain Lion installed and everything is showing Graphics AMD Radeon HD 6850 1024 MB. Or at least it was until I realized I could not login to iMessage. So.... I remembered that I had trouble before connecting to the Apps store and that my built-in ethernet was the issue. I...
OK....this mystery may never get solved. I have just started installing Mountain Lion. For the installation I have taken out the XFX 6850 ( as recommended ) , but unlike last time I am not using the intel integrated graphics. I have stuck an nVidia 9800 GT into the computer. I know it's a dated...
Just booted from iBoot with options.....
GraphicsEnabler=Yes AtiConfig=Gibba AtiPorts=4
.....and I get everything back, but in system info it shows.....
ATI Radeon HD NI40
Mmmmm.......
I tried to install Mountain Lion and that was when my troubles began.
I have no idea why this now got even worse.
You don't think the graphics card has become faulty do you?
I have now removed the AtiConfig and AtiPorts lines from the plist as well as set GraphicsEnabler=No then rebooted.
No change. Still showing a fixed resolution of 1400x1050.
I am very confused. Why are things getting worse?
Should I try re-install Chimera again?
This is what it is now showing.....

I did it and out put it to a text file again.
Then I realized I had had set GraphicsEnabler=No so I rebooted to do it again only when I rebooted I lost my second display and have only a resolution of 1400x1050.
I have gone to terminal and done it again.
Here are the two test...
OK.....first, sorry for taking so long to reply my little girl was using the computer to play Sonic.
I have type the following into terminal.... 'nvram -p >file'
..and the file is attached.
I'm on my iPad mostly,but when I post a replies on my desktop while still being logged in on the iPad it tells me that my posting must be checked first....
I have post ( I think twice ) the output you asked for. What was it that you are looking to find in it?
I have just removed the entire 'Extra' folder and booted up from iBoot using the commands.....
GraphicsEnalber=Yes AtiConfig=Gibba AtiPorts=4
.....and no change. GraphicsEnalber is still not working.
Could the problem be in the boot header? The reason I ask is because the problem only...
Thanks MacMan. I'm going to check that now although I'm not sure if that would be the cause as the only thing that has changed was me re-installing Chimera and it worked before. Still a good idea to look at that though.
Edit:
Just checked the com.apple.Boot.plist and there is nothing there...
I have realised that this is perhaps not the best section of the Forum to post this so I have moved it to.........

First of all, my apologies. I originally posted this in the "Post Installation" section of the Forum as I had not noticed this section. My bad. I have now read through this section and could not find any discussing the problem I am having. Maybe it's just me. I really hope some one has a clue...
Here is my org.chameleon.Boot.plist incase it helps anyone to shine some light on this....
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>

I really hope some one has a clue how to help me with this one.
I've just had to re-install OSX due to a hard drive problem and now when I set Graphicsenabler=Yes in org.chameleon.plist it does not take effect and it is still booting up with Graphicsenabler not running.
Before installing...
I have a Mac Pro 2006 model and also two Hackintoshes. Trying to install Winoze 7 on a 2006 Mac Pro is an utter pain in the back side so I have installed it on both my Hacks so they can dual boot into Windoze for playing games. The truth is though that I really do not like any non Unix-like...

All I did was make sure that the surface was clean smooth, dry and dust free.
I did sand some scratches smooth, but that was purely to give a smooth surface not for paint adhesion.
The only other thing I did was to make sure I applied a thick enough coat so as to hide the Apple Logo on the...
