Ok. I just realized that this actually isn't a problem because I have El Capitan installed and that's new enough to find the correct tools for. Thank you, Adrian!
So I always have had this question in the back of my mind, but I don't really know how to properly phrase it in a search engine, so (if it's okay) I'll ask it here:
If I want to upgrade my system, I usually create a backup with Time Machine. In order to revert the system to that backup, I use a...
Thank you very much! I don't plan on actually building this build until November, but if/when I do, I'll be sure to make my own thread (and maintain it)!
Hello, everyone!
First of all, please let me know if this type of thread isn't allowed and what to do in that case. In the past, I've only used other people's guides, so I'm just trying to start planning for my own build!
Anyway, I've built two hackintoshes so far, the most recent being...
This build is completely stable, just make sure to use 2x(# of GB) sticks instead of 4x(# of GB) sticks if you plan to use Chimera for your bootloader.

I don't know if this is just my system, but my front USB 3 port isn't working... I dunno my system seems to act different than most of the others.

Well, now there are no more problems with my hackintosh. Life is kind of boring...
Here is a little guide that I made for others and didn't even know worked.
If you are looking to do a Yosemite fresh install:
1) UniBeast
2) Download MultiBeast 7.0.1 (as of post)
3) Load the attached file...
I tried but I don't have any visible output devices - What is wrong with my computer...? So anyway are kexts OS specific?
*Edit: I now have everything working - so far (<24 hours, but, hey, you have to start from somewhere) no freezes and sound was just my computer acting up every time so I...
Do you think it'll work if I run MultiBeast 6 with the older kexts and install ALC892 & HDAEnabler? (Are kexts OS specific?) Or is this too dumb of a question...
Thanks,
HTM
How did you get your sound working? Do you have an HDAEnabler kext in S/L/E? Is it better for me to just do a fresh yosemite install and restore files from time machine/"migrate?"
Thanks,
HTM
Ok - so my computer is freezing up randomly whether I turn the XMP on or off... I had this problem since Mavericks and I never remembered to post it. My RAM is here:
http://www.amazon.com/dp/B004RFBIUU/. It has lower timing so it's faster than the one used in this build (9-9-9-24), and I used it...
OK - I did it and it pretty much seemed too easy to be true, considering how much work Hackintoshes usually are...
To go from this build to Yosemite:
1) Make sure you are running 10.9.5 Mavericks
2) Make a UniBeast drive (as of post date, latest is 5.0.1) for Yosemite
3) I had to boot with -x...
In my email notification, you also said "If you going to make a fresh install, yes. If you're going to install over Mavericks, you only need to do what tonymacx86's guides instructs. However, in either case, For 6 Series motherboards, you'll need to add:Drivers > System > AppleACPIPlatorm...
