Misc -> Debug in config.plist
Also config.plist was placed in wrong directory, it should be in OC folder.
Try attached EFI, enabled debugging and verbose boot.
Debug version show some log before boot-picker, i used release version. It will show BIOS logo or black screen (depending on your boot order) before the boot picker is loaded. you can try Debug version if you want, just replace all the files with Debug version and enable debugging in...
Try attached OpenCore EFI. post screenshot/picture of any error message you get or kernel panic.
About above mentioned Quirks that worked for you..
EnableWriteUnprotector is already set to True and SyncRuntimePermissions is set to True (needed for Windows) in config.plist from Post #1...
Basically you need to update OpenCore and kernel Extensions to make it work with Big Sur. kernel extensions are easy, just have to replace files in Kexts folder with newer version. OpenCore is little complicated have to replace OpenCore files with newer and also modify/update config.plist...
I do have Clover backup somewhere, I'll attach a copy (don't forget to generate new serials and replace those in config).
OpenCore: The issue in screenshot normally happens when "AppleCpuPmCfgLock" is not enabled in config.plist (workaround for CFG-Lock BIOS setting). There are a few other...
Updated everything I could, tested with v11.5.2 and everything seems fine on my end.
For now files are available in Post #1, I'll move it to GitHub for version control (possibly).
Feel free to report any issue you may encounter.
Hmm, it's good to do research before doing the actual thing.
Try it and let me know if you encounter any issues, use verbose boot and share screenshot of error or kernel panic (if you get any).
*Edit : Just tested EFI from Post #1 with latest macOS v11.5.2, AppleBacklightSmoother isn't...
Unlocked BIOS: Advanced Menu available, means all the BIOS settings are accessible (including those that are normally not available)
- Dump your stock BIOS image
- Modify it with patches required to make required "CSM Support" menu visible (or whatever you need)
- Flash the modified BIOS
*note...
I tested with macOS Big Sur v11.0.1, nothing serious is changed so will also work for v11.5.2
I personally have OpenCore v0.7.2 with all the kexts and patches updated as well, also updated to v11.5.2 last night, I don't plan to update the EFI unless the *Bug that causes black-screen at Boot...
Should technically work, I have v11.3 on Y11C (probably, not sure). OpenCore build is little outdated, but should work with v11.5.1
There is an issue with newer version of OpenCore on Y11C where "OpenCore BootPicker fails to appear" (randomly, most of time), so I didn't update OpenCore...
I did not try HDMI recently, but it used to work in the past. getting both internal screen and HDMI was a little tricky though.
- boot up laptop with HDMI *unplugged
- close the lid, wait till internal-screen goes black
- open lid once screen is black
- now connect HDMI cable
- both Screens...
Good to hear that. It's preferred to use USB 2.0 for installer phase, but sometimes USB 3.0 ports work as well.
I tried USBInjectAll + XhciPortLimit Quirk on a HP ProBook laptop but that didn't load on Big Sur 11.3 (worked fine on Catalina), then i also tried USBPorts.kext with XhciPortLimit...
That keyboard layout is different than my laptop, are you sure it's a Haier Y11C?
As I suggested earlier try Big Sur 11.2.2 or even Catalina. if the issue is what I think, using USBInjectAll (with XhciPortLimit set to "NO") might also work
Strange, config.plist is in right location and it should work.
How are you trying to boot?
Place EFI folder in root of a FAT32 formatted USB and then try to Boot from USB, don't forget to replace Serials/MLB with yours (current config.plist have placeholder serials)
From what i remember, with layout-id : 11 internal microphone is broken for me (invalid path map), layout-id : 18 works perfect (codec is ALC236). AppleALC v1.5.6 is installed in Kexts folder, it doesn't require CodecCommander to send verb commands. verb commands can be sent directly with...
Updated AppleALC to latest version (removed CodecCommander). I'm using xiaoM's layout-id 18 and with latest AppleALC and audio was working. Issue was the sound output in headphones was garbled, To fix that you can try the script from my GitHub repository (requires alc-verb property in config.plist)
I don't think it's supported, and doesn't look like Broadcom either.
Google says it's a Qualcomm Atheros QCA6174
TL;DR: Not Supported, won't work on macOS
