The reason I think it will work is because people seem to have it working on linux and osx even though steelseries doesn't provide a working driver for this keyboard on either OS. I know if I can get the USB to stop infinitely connecting and disconnecting...
My keyboard has backlight illumination that can be set to a wide range of colors. The problem is the backlighting should be white by default, but instead flashes different colors each time the USB device in question connects and disconnects. I know the keyboard itself uses a PS2 port (confirmed...
I don't think the actual keyboard uses USB. I think the illumination controller does. The keyboard doesn't cease working when the USB disconnects. I think it might be some function in the keyboard that's turning the port on and off.
The usb in question has something to do with the keyboard illumination. The vendor and device ids match those used in this project https://github.com/wearefractal/msi-keyboard. The keyboard lights flash different colors when it connects and disconnects. I believe the problem may be something in...
I'm using an MSI GE60 2PE laptop: cpu:4710hq igpu:4600 gpu: 860m running Yosemite 10.10.5. I was able to get audio working with a patched kext on 10.10.4. I was wondering if a clover patch exists for laptops. My laptop uses ALC892. Ive attached my clover config and ioreg.
From what I've read it's not as simple as applying a universal patch. Can you take a look at my DSDT and SSDTs to see if it might be possible in my case?
I see. Ended up with 30 errors in the DSDT now. 2 of them could be patched with your patches. The rest are all concentrated in one method.

Linux dumps all the files without an extension so I just did "iasl -da -dl *". This resulted in the output attached. It did not generate any dsl files.
edit: I used iasl when I booted back to os x. I'm going to try on Linux (since your directions never said switch to os x).
edit2: Turns out...
If anyone ever stumbles across this thread, the answer is above. Seems best to do all the patching and kext installation through clover so you don't actually have to junk up the System files.
I'm using an MSI GE60 2PE laptop:
cpu:4710hq
igpu:4600
gpu: 860m
Running Yosemite pretty well. Just need the battery, brightness, and audio patches and I'm done.
DSDT throws errors when I compile the original in MaciASL. I've attached the DSDT.
I don't have access to a mac anymore. I added the mobile value like this http://clover-wiki.zetam.org/Configuration/SMBIOS#Mobile I attached the updated config. Still having the same issues.
Using Clover I was able to boot into the Yosemite Installer. However the installer and all utilities are incredibly laggy. I'm talking like 5 frames/second. The mouse input is also laggy. It gets progressively slower until it becomes completely unresponsive.
I'm getting DSMOS has arrived in...
After learning the ropes today I finally made it to the Lion installation screen after many difficulties. Now that I'm here, my damn SSD Drive doesn't show up! It won't even show up in the BIOS and yet I can boot to windows which is located on a separate partition! I have no idea what's wrong...
