Wow!! Please upload more pics of your mod process would love to see your process. How did you get such a clean result on the front intake?! And the top power button is really clean.
Really cool idea, thanks for sharing
I'm having this EXACT same issue. The updates available banner came up and I clicked the Remind me... and chose 1 hour just to dismiss it. I came home and I was booted into my Sierra SSD. I rebooted into my HS SSD and saw it was doing an update. I let it finish and it's doing this same boot loop...
Perhaps something to do with Graphite? Sawtooth is a great name and it won't resemble it's original self when you're finished. What's the significance of the name that you did choose?
I've been working on this build since 2012, its been through several iterations. The water cooling was a new...
Confused how you have the eloop mounted. They come out of the frame like that?
have you looked into the 20” g4? Could there be a display that’ll fit that as well?
Nice job!! Looks like a very tight fit
I may look into sharing the files on here with the authors permission. In the meantime you can check the other replica threads and find Bouly.
Metal would be amazing instead of plastic. It just really isn't an option because of how expensive it is to 3D print.
Using Shapeways like the original...
I didn't test fit a gpu in there at any point in the process. I did however just try out my R9 380 compact which is similar in size to the MSI 760.
It will fit barely but it's going to be too tall to put in an HDMI L adapter. The DVI port also adds just a touch too much length at 9.2 inches...
It's quite a bit taller and maybe about an inch bigger in diameter.
Here's a mock up of about how much bigger compared to a mac pro. This comparison is based on the top fan size as it's the same across both. The perspective is different but this'll give you a decent idea.
The 3d printed base...
Wow! I'm impressed. I particularly enjoy the heatsink risers and using the original heatsink in your build. Makes me want to tackle another cube build ;)
Could you post a pic of the 'smoky smudge?' I worked on a friends mac that had a (I think) similar issue. It turns out it was just some dust or something coming from both corners. Try wiping off the glass on the inside.
Before you get to hacking, Try taking the whole thing apart and blowing the...
Not on my end. Mine work at boot. So I connect whatever I want USB3 and restart and it works. When it's ejected and I reinsert, it won't work.
The system is pretty quick to boot and it automatically takes me to my desktop so I don't mind a whole lot. But it can be a pain...
Ignore below. I goofed up. I found out that my config.plist has been blanked to default. All the values I set for SMBIOS and usb port configuration are gone. Really not sure how the .plist could have been set to stock. Perhaps I edited the wrong one?
Doing a fresh install later.
I keep...
Just added some LED strips cause why not. Makes for a nice glow. It was hard to capture what these really look like. They were advertised as 'pink' it's more of a purple/pink. Could have gone with any color but yeah, I chose pink 8-) These are wired up to 12v. May take them down to 9v or 5v and...
Hello! Thanks for the guide!
I'm working up to upgrading to El Cap. Could I use system definition iMac15,1? I am using a 4690S on my Z97N system and according to Everymac.com this 5k model uses the 4690 i5. Whereas the 14,1 definition doesn't have the 4690 listed
Is there any reason why...
