[Guide] Intel NUC7/NUC8 using Clover UEFI (NUC7i7Bxx,NUC8i7Bxx,etc)

Sonoma 14.4 + OC 0.9.9 working on my NUC817BEH. Attaching the OC bundle in case its useful to anyone. Couple of changes that folks using this need to be aware of: AirportItlwm.kext Using the latest dev build for Sonoma 14.4. If you want to use this EFI with lesser macOS versions then change...

[Guide] Intel NUC7/NUC8 using Clover UEFI (NUC7i7Bxx,NUC8i7Bxx,etc)

Hmm.. I had Safari crashes under Ventura but it was only when hosting screen sharing sessions with another Mac. Don't suppose you're doing any kind of VNC or Remote Desktop viewing/management? Try poking around the console app and look for clues around the times of the crashes - any stack...

[Guide] Intel NUC7/NUC8 using Clover UEFI (NUC7i7Bxx,NUC8i7Bxx,etc)

Perfect thanks! Installed the final build yesterday onto a fresh partition, very smooth install and all working well. Glad there's life in the NUC8 left yet. Apps seem more responsive than on Ventura, but this will be down to doing a fresh/vanilla install which is good practice for any OS every...

[Guide] Intel NUC7/NUC8 using Clover UEFI (NUC7i7Bxx,NUC8i7Bxx,etc)

Very nice, going to try out the final install this week and will report back. Thanks for this! Which airportitlwm did you use - the latest 2.3.0 alpha release labeled for Ventura, or 2.2.0 stable?

Anyone tried macOS Sonoma yet? Hitting GA next week.

[Guide] Intel NUC7/NUC8 using Clover UEFI (NUC7i7Bxx,NUC8i7Bxx,etc)

OK, so I finally had the chance to debug and fix issue 2) properly. Going to share my findings here in case they could help someone else with the same issue (@Leesureone). The symptom wasn't that the NUC wasn't entering sleep mode, but rather after a longer period of sleep it was in a powered...

[Guide] Intel NUC7/NUC8 using Clover UEFI (NUC7i7Bxx,NUC8i7Bxx,etc)

Thanks! I noticed that and upgraded to 0.8.5 + cleared NVRAM. I kept my EFI as close to yours as possible and will monitor to see if I noticed the issues coming back over the next few days. As a sidenote, after the upgrade bluetooth didn't work (even with IntelBluetoothFirmware and...

[Guide] Intel NUC7/NUC8 using Clover UEFI (NUC7i7Bxx,NUC8i7Bxx,etc)

Currently running Ventura (latest public beta) under Leesureone's OC 0.8.3 EFI. Did a fresh install to a clean partition, all working well on initial boot. However, have noticed some weird power management issues - since there are a couple of folks here running Ventura thought I'd ask if anyone...

[Guide] Intel NUC7/NUC8 using Clover UEFI (NUC7i7Bxx,NUC8i7Bxx,etc)

Thanks, a google showed that this KP is a known issue after an OS upgrade: https://github.com/Mieze/IntelMausiEthernet/issues/21 After cleaning the caches I haven't seen any further occurrences (fingers crossed). USB-wise all ports seem to report properly and recognize devices without issue.

[Guide] Intel NUC7/NUC8 using Clover UEFI (NUC7i7Bxx,NUC8i7Bxx,etc)

I did a fresh install of Monterey 12.3 via OC 7.6 (the zip from Leesureone) on my NUC8i7BEH from a blank partition after the random lockups I was experiencing. So far things are working well, except for what I assume are strange power management issues. Sleep/Wake works fine. But some mornings...

All on the same SSD, just different partitions. One thing that comes to mind is extracting a lot of files from a Google Photos Takeout multiple times. Will try HDD first aid to check FS integrity. If that doesn't help, time to wipe and reinstall.

[Guide] Intel NUC7/NUC8 using Clover UEFI (NUC7i7Bxx,NUC8i7Bxx,etc)

Hi all, has anyone run into issues with their NUC becoming unresponsive to mouse and keyboard input every so often? The mouse/keyboard freeze up for a few seconds, then work for a second, and then freeze again. Remote access via Screen Sharing also fails to work in this state. This behavior...

[Guide] Intel NUC7/NUC8 using Clover UEFI (NUC7i7Bxx,NUC8i7Bxx,etc)

Great news, AirportItlwm.kext 2.0.0 is now out with full AC (and Monterey) support! https://github.com/OpenIntelWireless/itlwm/releases/tag/v2.0.0 PHY Mode is now reported as 802.11ac on my wifi connection with a Tx rate of 867 Mbps, bringing this on-par with the Windows Intel wifi driver. My...

[Guide] Intel NUC7/NUC8 using Clover UEFI (NUC7i7Bxx,NUC8i7Bxx,etc)

@kaemale the kext works but not very well. Caveats I found: - If you boot with an SD card inserted macOS will kernel panic - Read/write speeds are pretty slow (writes for me were around 10MB/sec or less). For my use case performance wasn't good enough I don't bother with this kext and use...

[Guide] Intel NUC7/NUC8 using Clover UEFI (NUC7i7Bxx,NUC8i7Bxx,etc)

Like Leesureone mentioned if you're already using an older version of AirportItlwm (referenced in your config.plist), just overwrite the kext with the new one in your EFI/OC/kexts folder and reboot. The good news is that based on GitHub commits it looks like the next version (2.0) will have AC...

[Guide] Intel NUC7/NUC8 using Clover UEFI (NUC7i7Bxx,NUC8i7Bxx,etc)

Heads up, AirportItlwm.kext 1.3.0 has been released. I did a comparison with 1.2.0 and see significant speed increases. Before: 55mbps/10.2 up After: 219.22 mbps/10.72 up Booted under Windows and/or using ethernet on macOS, I get 235 down and the same up, so very close. The main difference is...

[Guide] Intel NUC7/NUC8 using Clover UEFI (NUC7i7Bxx,NUC8i7Bxx,etc)

Just chiming in to report a smooth upgrade from 11.1 to 11.2 using the built in update utility and the latest EFI bundle with OC 0.6.5. Seems 11.2 doesn't need OC 0.6.6.

[Guide] Intel NUC7/NUC8 using Clover UEFI (NUC7i7Bxx,NUC8i7Bxx,etc)

Yeah it's definitely related to Big Sur. No other issues on any other devices or even other browsers. A quick Google shows other users with the same type of symptoms: https://developer.apple.com/forums/thread/666529 So it's probably not hackintosh specific, which was one of my first suspicions...

[Guide] Intel NUC7/NUC8 using Clover UEFI (NUC7i7Bxx,NUC8i7Bxx,etc)

Wondering if this is just me.. has anyone else noticed weird page loading issues on Safari happen intermittently on Big Sur? Sometimes if I open a new tab and enter a URL and hit return, nothing happens and the page never loads (status bar just stays on the first stage of loading). If I try the...

[Guide] Intel NUC7/NUC8 using Clover UEFI (NUC7i7Bxx,NUC8i7Bxx,etc)

For anyone interested, thought I would try out the latest 1.2 alpha of airportitlwm.kext (Intel WiFi kext) since it's been a while since the last "stable" release (1.1.0 back in September) and there's been a lot of commit activity on the repo. On my NUC8i7 I'm seeing WiFi downstream speed is...
