Hi Rehabman,
I am dropping by to say 'thanks' for the latest ACPIBatteryManager.kext. My battery is now showing in the status bar in El Capitan and Yosemite.
cheers!
Just a weird question, does it make sense that Battery Status is displaying in the menu bar when yosemite is installed in a regular HDD but will not display when yosemite is installed in SSD(trim enabled or not )?
I have the same setup on both HDD and SSD. I even restored yosemite from HDD...
Hi Rehabman,
no dice, still not displaying battery status in menu bar at 10.5. But displaying well 10.4.
I created patched DSDT from a fresh extract - no SSDT patched yet. I fixed the BST to return a default voltage value(0x450), when read voltage is unknown. At Bat1 and Bat2 return (0)...
please disregard this note. totally nonsense. :)
I am getting ACPI_UNKNOWN. will try to fix it, and report back at ACPIBattery thread.
Thank you Rehabman.
Just a quick question, I am not sure if ACPIBattery is reading directly from (1) EC registries or (2)buffers returned by both _BIF or _BST. But based on your qoute above, it's reading from buffers. Am I right?
Sometimes the _BST is returning 1 for the voltage - no voltage reading. ACPI...
same as this post [http://www.tonymacx86.com/yosemite-laptop-support/162629-yosemite-dell-m6600-bit-help-4.html#post1027988]
They are all read-only, last time I checked. Let me rmdt ECW1 to check if something is updating those 6 bytes.
If none, I may just switch the values at ECR1. Hope it...
Hi Rehabman,
Reporting back after completing some tests.
After installing the PS2 debug version, battery status is not showing at 10.10.5
When looking at console log, latest logs(10.10.5) seems to be the same compared to 10.10.4. But in 10.10.4 battery status is displaying and PS2...
the 'make' log is a lot. Just copied its last line output.
OK, I will try getting it from Xcode 4.3.3
PS. your last build of voodooPS2 is not helping in displaying my battery status at 10.10.5. Seems weird. I tried using Dr. Hurt latest kext (built yesterday) but no dice. I will try to...
Hi Rehabman,
OS:10.10.5
XCode: 6.1.1
SDK:10.9
I am trying to build VoodooPS2 on the above param, but I'm getting the error below. Am I missing something? which one?
Thanks.
Oh. In the architecture setting beside the OS X 10.9, It says No SDK (Latest OS X). does this mean I have to...
You're probably right, I upgraded to 10.10.5 in the middle of DSDT patching. And that is probably where it got complicated. Re-installed to 10.10.4.
Once more unto the breach...
Sorry for mis-info. I am thinking, the dsdt is properly patched by looking at the console while using the ACPIBatteryManager(debug version). Everything are being displayed in the console properly. It is probably VoodooPS2 and ACPIBatteryManager are doing something at the sandbox-base(XPC)...
