Security Update 2020-003 (High Sierra) & (Mojave)

Unfortunately, yes. Reports "Ignoring software updates is deprecated. The ability to ignore individual updates will be removed in a future release of macOS." Seems like you'd no more be able to ignore the all the nagging Apple does to upgrade you to Catalina (only to find that half of your...

    macOS 10.13.6 Update

Security Update 2019-006 10.13.6 just went out of public beta, now available to all. Anybody tried it? The beta seemed ok on my (AMD GPU) build.

macOS 10.15 Catalina is Now Available on the Mac App Store

I have a similar board. The bare minimum for me was patching the ACPI for Series 5 boards (like yours), otherwise you get instant KPs or disk access problems. See this thread. At least it worked for me on an old Gigabyte Series 5 board with the latest Catalina public beta, I haven't upgraded to...

Mac OS Mojave and Legacy Series 5 motherboards (AHCI workaround)

Yes, at least the last public beta. The BreBo mentioned fix AppleAHCIPort Find --> 40600200 Replace --> 00000000 is needed but otherwise it works, tested on Lynnfield Core i5. Various other fixes (mainly generate C & P states, unless possibly with a hand crafted tables) might be needed...

    macOS 10.13.6 Update

Security update 2018-002 and Nvidia drivers - there is this 387.10.10.10.40.108 from Nvidia website, installer says for MacOS build 17G3025 (which should be the 2018-002 sec. update, right?). Anybody tried it yet?

There is this 387.10.10.10.40.108 from Nvidia website, for MacOS build 17G3025 (which should be the 2018-002 sec. update, right?). Anybody tried it yet?

Mac OS Mojave and Legacy Series 5 motherboards (AHCI workaround)

In High Sierra, I had to use kext patching for series 5 motherboards AHCI (without it, my system was unstable with random hangs due to disk errors or would hang at clover scan). Any news on the same with Mojave, does the patch work as well, is it needed? Thanks

NVIDIA Releases Alternate Graphics Drivers for macOS Sierra 10.12.6 (378.05.05.25)

No idea, but of note is that f07 is no longer in the Nvidia's Apple Updater XML, just f06 and the latest f08. So I guess some kind of hotfix on their part. EDIT: Just updated (with updated Clover just to be sure), and no problems, single restart and up and running with f08...

NVIDIA Releases Alternate Graphics Drivers for macOS Sierra 10.12.6 (378.05.05.25)

The security update 2018-002 just worked. Waited til Nvidia web drivers and a compatible CUDA driver (just came out today) were available, and installed, rebooted, updated Nvidia + CUDA, rebooted, back in business. Even on my rather older Clover version (4334). No problems with the new Nvidia...

Security Update 2018-001 for macOS Sierra 10.12.6 and OS X El Capitan 10.11.6

Just FWIW, upgraded a series 5 (bios) system without any major hitches. I do not use lilu and the other kexts, clover still v4334. First restart to VESA mode, just installed newer NVIDIA driver as prompted, second restart black screen, third restart fully working as usual...

    Sierra - Security Update 2017-001 10.12.6

Well, I am not sure about the proper procedure. What I did worked, though, via a couple of reboots. I am sure you have to actually reboot for the proper installation of any kernel update to work correctly, it installs upon next boot, not in the background. And the Nvidia installer won't allow...

    Sierra - Security Update 2017-001 10.12.6

Well, this officially came out yesterday, and since it addresses a lot of CVEs, including KRACK, this is gonna be pretty important to a lot of Sierra and El Cap users. Fortunately, it seems NVIDIA webdrivers just got an update to 378.05.05.25f03, at least on the updater source there. And 25f03...

    Sierra - Security Update 2017-001 10.12.6

didn't see anything about this so far, so let's start. Any problems? Nvidia webdriver gets borked by this, btw. Just be warned.

Inject EDID via Clover, with two monitors?

Well, I did change the AMD 280X for Nvidia 1080, but both work with two monitors fine. Issue is different. Apparently the monitor in question (4K Dell) does support 10-bit colour pipeline, which as far as I know is finally supported in OS X (although barely), but the EDID does not state so. My...

Inject EDID via Clover, with two monitors?

Hi, I have two monitors connected to my GPU (DP and DVI-D), and I would like to override the EDID table of one, connected via DP. How do I do that with Clover? I am not sure how it chooses which display it overrides the EDID for (via dev_id and vendor_id, or connection?) Thanks. Sorry for...

Radeon Compatibility Guide - ATI/AMD Graphics Cards

I have a quick question, since on one box I am still running on Intel Series 5 (Gigabyte P55) system, with AMD R280X card, sleep is not supported even via the iGPU trick (my system has no iGPU support). I was wondering, if I could theoretically use a older helper card (AMD 6870 which IIRC slept...

Radeon Compatibility Guide - ATI/AMD Graphics Cards

Hi Fl0rian, that's new to me. I thought the issue was so far unresolvable. Alas, I have no integrated GPU, so with my R9 280X I am out of luck regarding sleep, I guess.
