Apple’s First ARM-based Mac Will Feature 12-Core Processor, Release in 2021

That's just a rumor, or a bs prediction, it can hardly be considered news. And 12 core sounds kind of little, seeing as an iPad Pro has 8 cores.

Apple Previews macOS 11.0 Big Sur - Available Fall 2020

I'm not interested in any touch Mac. I've got iPads and iPhones for that. Maybe I'm lazy, but I can't imagine wanting to reach out to touch a large monitor in front of me. It sounds very tiring for the arms to use.

Apple Previews macOS 11.0 Big Sur - Available Fall 2020

LOL @ people saying return a newly bought Mac and people being negative. I think this move is great. Intel hasn't been delivering and they've had plenty of problems and are behind schedule. I remember when the move to Intel from PPC first happened, and that was a good thing too. Power PC was...

MINI PowerMac G5 HACKINTOSH (3D Printable)

I don't know anything about 3d printers at all, but I guess that's the ultimate thing to have when making your own custom machine, just design your own case and print it out! Nice looking mini G5!

Apple Introduces New MacBook Air and Mac Mini

I'm very happy with my most recent hack that I built about 6 months ago, but these new Mac Minis are great to see! 1. We finally got confirmation that Apple did not abandon the Mac Mini line, as some have speculated. 2. They have abandoned mobile CPU chips and are finally using desktop CPUS in...

Apple Special Event Scheduled for October 30th

I'm very happy with my iPad Pro 10.5, but I am expecting to see a brand new one, rumors are 11". And there will be a new pencil 2 to go along with that, according to the rumors also. There might be a few surprises too, like a Mac mini, but I'm not holding my breath for that. I'm also holding...

My budget build - High Sierra, MSI B250M Pro Opt Boost, i3-7350k, HD 630

I did another hardware addition to my build today. I wanted to use an old but great firewire audio interface that I have with my new machine (Apogee Duet FW), so I installed a PCI-E firewire card today, the SYBA low profile FW card, and I am pleased to report that I now have fully functional...

My budget build - High Sierra, MSI B250M Pro Opt Boost, i3-7350k, HD 630

Here is a small update to the original thread. I have made a few hardware additions to my build since I first posted the original build. I added a Gigabyte RX 560 and that is working fine. I also added a 4K monitor, which I have connected to the rx 560 via DisplayPort. I installed Mojave last...

My budget build - High Sierra, MSI B250M Pro Opt Boost, i3-7350k, HD 630

This is the first time I have returned to this thread since I first posted it, so I didn't see your question until now. Hopefully you have solved that issue a long time ago. But if not, then I might ask if you have removed the optane card from the board? That was one of the first things that I...

MSI B250M Pro Opt Boost LGA 1151 Intel Micro ATX Motherboard $34 after $30 Rebate + Free S&H

By the way, this super cheap MSI board worked fine, and I now have a running High Sierra system HFS+ and it cost me next to nothing. I wanted to keep my build as simple as possible and all I did was follow the tonymac guide to installing high sierra, using unibeast and multibeast. The install...

White SATA on Ancient Gigabyte Hackintosh - El Capitan

I managed to figure out how to save an ioreg file from my system, and I have included it in this post. Is this file supposed to tell me if the SATA is correct? Everything seems to be working fine with my set up, including the new drive which I installed today.

White SATA on Ancient Gigabyte Hackintosh - El Capitan

I see. Thanks for letting me know! Those two 3rd party SATA and ESATA extensions were installed earlier today, when I was trying to solve my hard drive not showing up problem. I'll get rid of them.

Thanks! I will be taking a look at that link later on. I don't think that I've ever removed anything from that folder, so I'm not surprised that there is some junk there.

Don't mind me! I've just been thinking out loud here, and writing these posts helped me to solve my problem, even though there hasn't been any time for any replies yet. Boom!:headbang: I solved the issue, and I now have my brand new hard drive showing up natively in El Capitan, using the...

White SATA on Ancient Gigabyte Hackintosh - El Capitan

A-ha! I believe that I see the problem! On the first screenshot, the drive is showing up as IDE Channel 5 Master! I certainly don't want IDE, I want SATA of course! The drive I bought is a SATA drive, not an IDE drive. I suppose that I'll boot into the BIOS again and see if I can find...
