It really is dependent on whether the M3 MBP Max really is a match for the Studio M2 Ultra in terms of processing power for mixing. I am curious if anyone has both of these machines and working in music production.

Is the 16 Core M3 MBP Max really a match for the 24 Core Mac Studio M2 Ultra, as the Geekbench benchmarks suggest? This would be a music production machine used mostly for mixing and mastering! The looming M3 Studio Ultra, makes me think I should wait though!

Thanks for the info. If I were to go with a new build with the 12900ks, I would use Gigabyte Z690 Aero G on an older BIOS and use the Titan Ridge card. Seems like the easiest path. That said, both of those latter products may be hard to source in Europe.

Apple Music Lossless? I have discovered, and also read there is an issue with playing Apple Music in Lossless mode. It just skips the tracks without playing. Has anyone else experienced this? Apparently switching to iMacPro1,1 SMBIOS gets it working?

Is there any harm in using the older OpenCore 0.6.4 with the latest version of Big Sur 11.6 I just updated from Catalina to Big Sur with success (thanks again to Casey's superb guides), and I was on OC 0.6.4 prior to the upgrade. So thinking to keep as is as it is working well....
