Using a Presonus Quantum Thunderbolt 2 Audio Interface...HELP

Presonus recently released Universal Control 4.2.0.96206. I am happy to report it works fine with Quantum TB interfaces under Ventura 13.5 (22G74). I had a few hiccups under Ventura mainly due to DMAR tables being a bit wonky so if you run into troubles make sure you follow the Thunderbolt...

Using a Presonus Quantum Thunderbolt 2 Audio Interface...HELP

Mine works without any kext plist edits as well, maybe that is because I configured my Thunderbolt HotPlug correctly. I was able to make the new UC 4.x SystemExtension work without choppy distorted sound too, DMAR region dropping and "DisableIoMapper" OC quirk helped. So, anyone who is having...

Using a Presonus Quantum Thunderbolt 2 Audio Interface...HELP

Yup, that plist edit is all that is required. Yes, 3.5.2 is working fine for almost a month now with heavy daily DAW usage. Rock solid.

Using a Presonus Quantum Thunderbolt 2 Audio Interface...HELP

Guys, just a quick update here. Just upgraded from Big Sur to Ventura. I am running 13.4.1 with Universal Control 3.5.2 with the IOPCITunneled edited kext from 3.5.2. Running Quantum+Quantum4848 combo chained with a UAD Satellite TB Quad on the same bus on a 9700K/Asrock Z270 SuperCarrier mobo...

Using a Presonus Quantum Thunderbolt 2 Audio Interface...HELP

Anyone had success with the new Universal Control 3.6? Now it installs the kext differently. While the newer driver does not explicitly require IOPCITunnelled property to detect the interfaces, it just freezes on playback.

Kaby Lake/UHD 630 Dual Monitor issues

Hello everyone, I am pulling my hair out trying to fix an issue with UHD 630 and dual monitor setup. After following FB patching guide and a lot of trial and error I've managed to get a semi-working config which works if I leave the HDMI port plugged and only plug the DP port after the system...

HowTo: Real Thunderbolt HotPlug/HotSwap on the fly

Another follow-up: please note that the OPs BIOS configuration options are required for hotplug to work, the SSDT patches won't work without BIOS/UEFI changes.

HowTo: Real Thunderbolt HotPlug/HotSwap on the fly

Following up: I've managed to get Thunderbolt hot plug working on Z270 SuperCarrier under 10.15.6 and OpenCore by using the following SSDTs.

HowTo: Real Thunderbolt HotPlug/HotSwap on the fly

@Mork_vom_Ork Thanks a lot for the guide, I am trying to get it going with the same board (Z270 SuperCarrier). I managed to unlock the bios (latest 2.40) using AMIBCD and set all the options as on your screenshots. I've made an SSDT from the guide and added it to OpenCore. Unfortunately, it...

Selection of audio outputs and relative equalization.

Do not expect any decent quality from the built-in HDA codec's analog outputs, especially on the front panel. If you insist on using HDA, use S/PDIF coaxial or S/PDIF Toslink Optical outputs whenever possible. You could use VoodooHDA for more precise codec control but you should invest in a...

    Skylake-X/X299 and macOS Sierra 10.12 - [Successful Build/Extended Guide]

I've noticed that the onboard mobo Wi-Fi module is actually an M.2 under an RF-shield. Is it possible to replace it with something Broadcom'ish and compatible to avoid the PCI-E adapter? I don't really need the WiGig.

[Guide] Lenovo Y50 (UHD or 1080p) using Clover UEFI (10.11)

Had to repatch iokit and audio when upgraded to 10.11.4, repatched via HDMI cable and external display :)

[Guide] Lenovo Y50 (UHD or 1080p) using Clover UEFI (10.11)

The guide has worked flawlessly, but I had to apply the UHD IOKit patch manually as 10.11.3 is not added to the script yet. You just look through the file and find the perl patch for the 10.11.2 and apply that, worked for me! Again, Rehabman saves the day! Thanks a lot for such a concise...

Anyone try a fibre channel HBA?

There are reasons it won't work fully. In hacks, the Apple/LSI cards only detect LUNs of one target.

Which Fibre Channel Cards to use?

I've been having mixed success with LSI-branded and Apple branded (same hardware) cards. LSI7204EP (Apple) and LSI7204EP-LC (LSI). They mostly work OOB but have problems with multiple target LUNs being mixed up with only one target visible. If you only plan to use one Target array disk shelf...

Anyone try a fibre channel HBA?

I know I am necroing here, but if anyone is wondering, LSI-branded and Apple cards work in Hacks with some limitations. The main problem for me at the moment is that it will only recognize and enumerate one Fibre Channel target LUNs, completely ignoring secondary available targets. I am trying...
