Thanks for the response. Where did you place the kext? I am using the EFI you sent and still no sound. I'm not seeing the AppleALC kext anywhere in there.
Sound does work when tested at the clover menu (output is named speakers).
In MacOS, my output choices are only 2: in-line or headphones...
Nevermind - this part is fixed now. I got it booting fine after putting in a fake ID, but then changed it again to fix 4MB of VRAM problem.
I changed my clover configuration according to this comment I found elsewhere and now am getting 1536 MB VRAM and no more screen tearing:

Let me back up - I followed the guide and was able to install Mojave and boot to it from the USB drive. Right now I'm trying to fix the VRAM issue that others have, and also configure clover for the internal SSD.
When turning on device w/o USB I choose "boot macOS from SSD" , it shows loading...
Thanks for posting this. I can only boot from USB on my 9020, and so I'm trying different things. Also it shows only 4MB. I probably did something wrong as this is my first hackintosh.
I can't boot from your file either on internal SSD, but the USB I boot from does not have any values for all...
