Known problem, unfortunately. For now, you could use CodecCommander (there's an older post of mine on this). I have extracted the codec verbs for our laptop and wanted to experiment a bit with it, but then started having problems with the USB-C port and have been focusing on fixing that instead...
Yep, I know, I’ll make any changes needed on top of it!
Thanks a lot for the NVRAM SSDT too, that’s great! Our laptop was supposed to work with AptioMemoryFix alone, but I couldn’t get it to shutdown/reboot without kernel panicking... A step closer to a vanilla setup!
That's great!
I will soon post some updated files for our machine too (including, hopefully, full hot-patching, OpenCore support, and more). Most probably next week, but not quite sure yet...
Have you disabled the NVIDIA card? If you haven't already, there's an add-on SSDT you could use (provided by RehabMan):
// Disable Nvidia with a call to _OFF at path _SB.PCI0.PEG0.PEGP
// Assumes no EC related code in the _OFF code path
// Assumes no existing _INI at _SB.PCI0.PEG0.PEGP...
While I am aware that this is not generally recommended, try replacing OsxAptioFix2Drv-64.efi with AptioMemoryFix.efi and let me know of the result.
Some recommendations too: you seem to be using FakeSMC, so VirtualSmc-64.efi isn't needed. Unless you are specifically interested in having...
Sounds like your NVRAM isn’t working, make sure that you tick “Install RC scripts on target volume” when installing Clover and pair it with the EmuVariableUefi(.efi) driver.
We use MacbookPro15,2 to define our systems. Through CPUFriend I've applied the MacbookPro15,1 PM profile instead. You may also lower the minimum CPU frequency this way. The Geekbench score I got is: 4990 - 20039.
Did you have to configure CPUFriend somehow or is it just a matter of dropping it into /L/E and rebuilding cache? I really want to give it a go in case I see any improvement!
This week I'm working at a coffee shop for a change, so I've been able to see how my battery life is when not connected...
This comes as an option turned off by default. Take a look under Accessibility, Mouse and Trackpad options. Also you need the DSDT patch-- that is as long as you want proper touchpad support of course...
Note that with Interrupts mode enabled, all three drag and drop options work.
Unfortunately I don’t have any TB3 devices to test, so there’s not a lot I can do... That said, I use my USB-C to HDMI dongle daily and haven’t had any issues with it (at 1080p@60Hz that is). So I’m pretty sure you’ll be fine as well!
Sure thing! I've already updated Clover, Lilu, and all related kexts (will upload links to them as they all had to me manually compiled first). So I'm pretty much ready for the installation... this is for later tonight though, when I'm back home.
Unfortunately no news on that yet...
Later today I will be installing the first beta of macOS 10.15 though and will let you know of the result. With the announcement of the new Mac Pro one would expect new NVIDIA drivers to be released soon. I'm still hoping for native NVMe power management...
The guide forgets to mention that you also have to tick "Install RC scripts on target volume" when installing Clover. If you didn't do so, simply going through the Clover installation process again should (hopefully) take care of this issue while leaving everything else intact.
Check your NVRAM emulation! When installing Clover did you check the "Install RC scripts on this volume" option? You need this one together with EmuVariable to get your NVRAM to work properly. This could affect sleep too.
You should use CodecCommander to get audio working after sleep. Your system not booting up occasionally is probably due to older Lilu + AppleALC kexts. Updating them should take care of that problem (and introduce a new one, booting up to no working audio that is). For your fan issue I have no...
Dragging windows by double tapping on them is what I mean. You can enable it by going into Accesibility settings > Mouse & trackpad > Trackpad options... and enabling dragging ("with no drag lock" is the option I'm using).
As for the patches, yes. The drivers can either work on polling or...
These are the first ones to support interrupts, as our kexts were running in polling mode up until now. Interrupts is superior and the way things are supposed to work when properly configured. In polling mode the driver keeps checking for new data at a fixed interval. Interrupts work the other...
