Ok, I moved the Fenvi card into another PCIe slot (x16) and the BT worked, but WiFi stopped working!
I returned the card then to its original PCIe slot (x1) and everything returned to normal. Both WiFi and BT are working now. I think Fenvi card doesn't like x16 PCIe!
When I opened the...
I have Fenvi T919 card. Bluetooth had been working well for years, since High Sierra till Big Sur. Just yesterday, my BT mouse and keyboard didn't work when the system booted! I had to connect a USB keyboard in order to be able to login.
I checked AirDrop, Messages and FaceTime and they all...
Ok, I read this topic about changes in OC 0.7.2: https://www.tonymacx86.com/threads/how-to-securebootmodel-changes-in-opencore-0-7-2.315082/
It says the recommended SecureBootModel value for Catalina is j137. I changed to this value in my config.plist and the system successfully booted.
Thank you. SecureBootModel was set to Default in my config.plist. I disabled it and now can boot without an issue :)
It turned out that, SecureBootModel would prevent Catalina, which I run, from booting. The page you linked to states that: "Default is set to x86legacy which will breaking...
I want to switch from Clover to OC in order to upgrade my current 10.15.7 to macOS 11. I prepared a USB stick according to the OC guide here: https://dortania.github.io/OpenCore-Install-Guide/installer-guide/ . My plan is to boot the current 10.15.7 using OC first, then upgrade to 11.4.
The USB...
Well, I looked here: Converting from Clover to OpenCore and it's a hell of instructions and modifications
I read here that people are saying it's an easy conversion, but as it's described in the above (official?) page, it seems not, at least for me!
Anyway, I'll try the method you...
Thank you. I scanned through the "Clover Conversion" page and found it too scary to do! I'd rather re-install the OS and all my apps than doing that conversion! Anyway, Catalina is good enough for me for now and I find no benefit to upgrade. Actually, I may downgrade to Mojave in order to have...
I'm replacing my 2K native monitor with another just to be able to have 2K (or at least 1080p) HiDPI display. Will any 4K native monitor allow 2K or 1080p HiDPI? Please advise.
macOS has a HiDPI resolution mode that was first introduced with Retina MacBook Pros in 2012. In this mode, the computer renders the display at the selected "theoretical" resolution then scales it (via software) to the monitor's native (physical) resolution. For example, if the selected HiDPI...
I have a similar Lenovo monitor (L24q-20 2560x1440 native) but only get 720p HiDPI. Could you please let us know how you enabled 2304x1296 HiDPI with your monitor?
I have a Lenovo 2K LCD 23.8" monitor (L24q-20). In its native resolution, text and UI appear too small for my eyes. I enabled HiDPI in order to get larger text without scarifying resolution. The problem is that the maximum HiDPI resolution I can get with this monitor is 720p, which renders...
I was playing with HiDPI settings the other day and now my mackintosh doesn't boot if the HTMI cable is connected to the internal graphics chip (Intel UHD Graphics 630). The progress bar that appears under the Apple logo in the black startup screen stops at about 90% and stays there!
The...
I get the following error every time I upgrade to a new Catalina version! The system installs, but this message appears at the end of every installation. Any reason why?
During installation, Clover always selects the main HD portion to boot from. I need to manually choose the install partition...
