    Still Download Sierra Installer?

Thanks, Stork! Interestingly, I wanted this so I could install it on my wife's new (new to us, anyway) MacBook Air. Since the previous owner decided to install the High Sierra beta, there was no way to downgrade... it won't let us run the 10.12 installer, so I'm currently downloading 10.11 to...

    Still Download Sierra Installer?

I'm not ready to adopt 10.13, but I can't seem to use the App Store on my valid Macs to get a Sierra installer anymore. Am I just SOL? I have an update pending on one of my Macs, but I doubt I can use the update to make a USB. I'll dig through my files again, but I'm pretty sure my Sierra...

[Solved] Trouble with 'Pascal' to work in El Capitan 10.11.6

Long story short: There are no Pascal drivers for El Capitan. If you want to use Pascal (your 1070) on Mac, you'll have to be on Sierra. AFAIK, anybody care to correct me?

    Speculation/Opinion: 980Ti SLI vs 1080Ti

So... what I'm hearing is: Unless I want more than 4 monitors (I have 3 and don't plan on expanding that any time soon), the 1080Ti will be better on the macOS side of things that the 980Ti SLI I've got going right now. Now the question is: Which 1080Ti to get? Gigabyte's "AORUS XTreme" is...

    Speculation/Opinion: 980Ti SLI vs 1080Ti

Curious. What in macOS is able to make use of two cards? I'm guessing I'll get better overall performance with one beastly card than 2 great cards just because most things probably don't support dual-GPU...

    Speculation/Opinion: 980Ti SLI vs 1080Ti

Hey, just looking for some opinions based on your experience. I've got 2x GTX 980Ti's in my rig right now, in SLI (which, admittedly, doesn't help much on the Mac end of things). They're EVGA SC ACX 2.0 with backplate. My machine handles them well, but I can sell them for about $700 - which...

Sierra: No sleep, shutdown, and can't save dock prefs

Not currently using a dsdt, I've never had to do that with Gigabyte boards... what would you recommend?

Sierra: No sleep, shutdown, and can't save dock prefs

Brother here! Had this system stable on El Captian, don't know why we're having such issues with Sierra. Previous sysdef was Mac Pro 3,1, but that's not valid for 10.12; hence iMac 13,2 - the specs line up quite nicely with the hardware listed on everymac, so I really feel it should work. What...

Is there a way of use a VGA Monitor?

If you're really struggling, a $20 ACTIVE Displayport->VGA adaptor works for me. There are both active and passive ones, make sure you get an active.

Best Hardware for Wifi/Bluetooth with Continuity/Handoff

Hey, man - I appreciate the response! It is connecting to my 5ghz network, but I'm not getting speeds as fast as my laptop. My Bluetooth doesn't work, though, and all the antennas (visually, at least) appear identical.

Best Hardware for Wifi/Bluetooth with Continuity/Handoff

Well, I finally built a new rig around Black Friday. Loving it so far, except that I can't seem to get my wifi, bluetooth, and continuity/handoff all working at once. Note: I never had continuity/handoff on my old rig; but if I'm sinking money into this one, I plan on getting my worth. I...

    Bluetooth Card (Continuity, Handoff)

I have plugged it in to a (pretty-sure-it's-working) USB 2.0 header on the motherboard - the header works for the bluetooth on my other wifi/bluetooth card, but that one doesn't support handoff/continuity. I've tried a PCI-e x1 and a PCI-e x4 slot, neither seemed to work better than the other...

    Bluetooth Card (Continuity, Handoff)

For the record, I have the Fenvi card listed above, and bluetooth isn't working properly for me. I guess it's not a guarantee? I may have my USB configured wrong.

Affordable completely OOB Continuity and handoff

I actually purchased this card as well; it seems to be working well (had some difficulty coercing it to connect to the 5Ghz portion of the SSID instead of the 2.4, but that's probably just my network) but I can't confirm the bluetooth is working - when I switched back to my old card (DIY...

Critique My Build (Before I pull the trigger?)

I'm finally building a new machine, and here's what I've got spec'ed out - the prices aren't exact for whatever reason, but I'd appreciate some direction if any of these components look off - or if they could be improved. They've been selected based on what I need and what Newegg's got on sale...

    M.2 Boot?

Well, considering that newegg wants $300 for a 256GB SM951, $120 doesn't sound bad at all. Did it work out for you? http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820147425

    M.2 Boot?

Would the 951 (which is twice as expensive) work OOB, 94 is there still driver finnegling to do? Would the 951 be compatible with the m2 on my motherboard?
