[Help] High Sierra and Nvidia webdriver error: gIOScreenLockState 3 ...

I have the same graphics card and Im experiencing the same problem, so you’re not alone. What’s interesting is that you said you had to remove the graphics card to get to the installer - It wasn’t necessary in my case, I just don’t have acceleration. There are some tricks on the main thread...

HD6870 Sierra update : 16-bit color gradients, blur and shadows

UPDATE: after updating to 10.12.1, the colors are back to normal. However, the blinking that I described in the other thread (https://www.tonymacx86.com/threads/dell-monitor-blinks-hd-6870-video-inside.199182/ ) is much much more often than under 10.12.0. I actually can make do with the 16bit...

HD6870 Sierra update : 16-bit color gradients, blur and shadows

HD6870 -> mDP to DP -> U2515H I have never had this issue too, until updating to Sierra. Very strange. Although I did have (and still do, to a certain extent) the blinking problem that you tried to help me resolve, but we couldn't figure it out.. Not sure if this has anything to do with the...

HD6870 Sierra update : 16-bit color gradients, blur and shadows

It surely has to do with software, because wallpapers and apps icons look as they should. And I've never had anything like this in Windows. This problem began after software update, so Im pretty sure there's some settings to tweak. Maybe EDID?

HD6870 Sierra update : 16-bit color gradients, blur and shadows

Hey, My monitor is Dell 1440p U2515H, and I'm having a problem since I updated to Sierra. The gradients, blur effects, and shadows look weird. Not fuzzy, but less color accuracy. for instance, a shadow would look like strips of gray colors instead of a real gradient. It's difficult to capture on...

Dell monitor 'blinks', HD 6870 (video inside)

I guess so.. Im copying the link to my new thread in case anyone else has the same issue, and would like to add a v.card: Additional Cheap GPU for HiDPI purposes If you have any knowledge regarding HiDPI it would be nice to hear what you think

Thanks for helping and sticking around though :) I'll look for a basic new graphics card to add to my PC for OS X only purposes

Additional Cheap GPU for HiDPI purposes

Hey :) My monitor is 1440p and I'd like to run in 1080p HiDPI mode, which requires a 4k supported GPU. (the guide for HiDPI: [Guide] Add your custom retina / HiDPI resolution for your desktop display) My question is - Does my candidate GPU has to support 4K at 60Hz, to output 1080p HiDPI at...

    Running at 60hz hidpi?

Can you elaborate what error are you experiencing? Did you also try 1920x1080 HiDPI mode? As far as I know your 'target'resolution can not excees the cap of your graphics card. For instance: 1080p HiDPI requires a 2160p cabale graphics card. Try 1080p HiDPI and maybe that would work. Although...

    Running at 60hz hidpi?

Have you come across this? http://forums.macrumors.com/threads/updated-turtorial-non-2x-custom-hidpi-mode-on-macs-fixed-mouse-delay-problem.1568657/ What's your monitor, and what resolution are you trying to accomplish?

Dell monitor 'blinks', HD 6870 (video inside)

mDP to DP is just the one that came with the monitor, so I have no idea about passive/active. The DVI to HDMI was just sprawled somewhere in my house, so no idea either... I know that adaptors are a headache in OS X, but it seems to be the only option I've got left before buying a graphics card...

Dell monitor 'blinks', HD 6870 (video inside)

I just got a blink with HDMI to HDMI, boot with no cache :/ It probably has to do with both the monitor & graphics card, because there are other experiencing those blinks on Windows with certain graphics cards (though my Windows runs great, thank god) What do you think about a cheap GT710 for...

Dell monitor 'blinks', HD 6870 (video inside)

It isn't normal behaviour because those 'blinks' don't show up when connected to DVI (the other video), and this isn't just a normal blank black screen during boot - it is a blink, because unlike when there's text, the black background during the blink color is as black as if the monitor wasn't...

Dell monitor 'blinks', HD 6870 (video inside)

I used now HDMI to HDMI to boot without cache, from past experience it should blink (unless 'without cache' will make a difference. Ill put that to the test). it definitely blinked during POST, just like Dell's mDP to DP. Here's a comparison between the blinks at POST, and the DVI to HDMI which...

Dell monitor 'blinks', HD 6870 (video inside)

My HD 6870 is Gigabyte's I discovered something very interesting. mDP/HDMI -> Dell monitor has 3 constant blinks, at the same locations, at POST. I didn't notice those until now because they were well placed. I have a DVI to HDMI cable which I started playing with: DVI connected instead of my...

Dell monitor 'blinks', HD 6870 (video inside)

Tried both and no USB + goes black sometimes.. I'm not alone in this - Googling "U2515H blinking" / goes black yields a noticeable amount of people with a similar issue, yet nearly not as many solutions. Could it be that my graphics card driver needs some sort of a tweak, supplied by the...

Dell monitor 'blinks', HD 6870 (video inside)

Ok, my Bios version was FB so I updated it to FK, then changed my bios settings to as they were before the update. Then I downloaded the dsdt, changed its name to DSDT.aml and moved it to where you told me. I also ticked off all the V in 'fixes' such as FixHDA, because they wouldn't be necessary...

Hey, Thank you so much for helping out! Sorry for the delay, I changed the config.plist SMBIOS from iMac to Mac Pro,thinking it would help, but I was wrong, and then I changed it back again to iMac so you could have a look :) As it seems, I actually don't have a dsdt but rather have the FixHDA...
