Gigabyte Aorus Z370 Gaming 5 with Two M.2. Drives Possible?

Hi! Thanks for the answer.. That's what I figured.. but I know that things can be more complicated in reality (as opposed to theory) I have some Multicam 4k video projects (in 422) coming and a sata flash drive won't do.. so I ordered a crucial p5 2tb m2 drive cause I got a good deal.. my...

Gigabyte Aorus Z370 Gaming 5 with Two M.2. Drives Possible?

Hi! Does anyone here have experience with the Gigabyte Z370 Gaming 5 and two M.2 drives? If I put in a second m.2 drive (booting from the 1st), will macOS recognize it? Will it create a bottleneck? not sure with which PC PCI-e port bandwidth is shared? Would really appreciate help here Thanks!

Radeon VII (and new AMD gpus) compatibility

I would love to see Vega vii support, but I don't think it'll happen. Vega vii is sold by AMD at a loss and is only there to bridge the gap (and somewhat compete with Nvidia in the high end) until NAVI is out later this year. Maybe the'll update the iMac Pro.. but I have my doubts.. And even if...

Help - reboot right after clover drive selection

Ok.. So I've created a Linux USB Stick to check if the hardware was ok - it is. In Linux I made sure all the kexts on my EFI partition were up to date - they are. I updated my bios to the latest version. I now have windows installed to work from there.. i'm really don't know what to try -...

Help - reboot right after clover drive selection

hi everyone. I got up yesterday and out of the blue cannot turn on my computer anymore. No updates done, nothing. I get to the clover boot menu, but as soon as I select the computer restarts. Using verbose mode I only get the following (see attachment). I’ve tried the clover backup configs...

[Solved] radeon 580 pro - horribele OpenCL performance - help

SOLVED!! at least it seams like. All it really took was to enable the intel integrated graphics in bios (which i didn't do since coffee lake wasn't officially supported).. but it works fine and is recognised by mac os 10.13.1 as kabylake graphics. now i get consistent openCL results.

[Solved] radeon 580 pro - horribele OpenCL performance - help

hi SpookyBoo! thanks for sharing. do you use RadeonDeInit together with WhateverGreen and Lilu? I might habe issues injecting intel because I have a coffee lake cpu have disabled iGPU from the beginning.. but if it might solve this.. I would be wiling to try ;) don't really care about iTunes...

[Solved] radeon 580 pro - horribele OpenCL performance - help

ok - now this is truly strange. I get the full performance right after I restart my computer.. then it seem to degrade. I read in other places that happened to people. anyone any ideas? I don't really understand much about frame buffer allocation etc..

[Solved] radeon 580 pro - horribele OpenCL performance - help

hi! I now have my first hackintosh up and running (well) - but the compute score in Geekbench gives me not even half (rather a third) of what it should be (compared to an iMac with a 580 pro). my score is about 55000 (my result ID: 1556109) OpenGL scores seem to be ok (cinebench, valley etc..)...

    Coffee Lake i7-8700K Compatibility

Hi, hst51, That message was from before Coffee Lake was officially launched. The info came from different youtube tech channels. They reported that Intel was testing Coffee Lake on existing Z270 chipsets, and that it worked with many boards (however, obviously needing BIOS update). But, some...

Premier Pro + Photoshop AMD or Nvidia?

So sorry gateway.. ups. Well - I was looking into the same problem, and it looks like Adobe products in general prefer CUDA over OpenCL - which means Nvidia over AMD. However, Adobe doesn't optimize for graphics card at all, so when working in Premiere, a GTX 1060 performed as well as a GTX...

    Coffee Lake i7-8700K Compatibility

yes to most things - however - if you work professionally and need to relay on your hardware you should'd experiment with a hackintosh - you should go for a proper workstation. hackintoshes - especially when working with configurations not x times tested here - always hold a risk of being more...

    Coffee Lake i7-8700K Compatibility

hi nobhobbor, don't worry too much about audio - most computers will be able to deal with it without issues. latency is not a hard drive issue, but as i already said all about your audio interface and to a lesser degree your cpu (though a 7700k will do just fine for that - no need for...

    8th Gen Intel CPUs

.. or someone gives it a try.. coffee lake and z370 are both very similar to kaby lake and z270.. spoofing could just work fine.. interesting times ;).. can't wait for our early adopters here.

    Coffee Lake i7-8700K Compatibility

recording latency doesn't have (much) to do with cpu or gpu at all. it's all about your audio interface. most of the better interfaces offer latency free recording/playback - many with onboard dsp effects. so make sure you have the right settings chosen in your device settings (for the audio...

    Coffee Lake i7-8700K Compatibility

faster - for sure - at least in heavily multi-threaded programs eg for video editing or 3d rendering. for everyday use and graphics work etc the coffee lake processer will be faster.. not to forget the slight difference in system price ;)

Likelihood of success for a Z370+8700k build NOW?

I'm personally uncertain about the 370 platform for the mac, since intel is going to release z390 in the second half 2018.. which coincides with updated macs.. so I'm afraid apple will skip 370 completly and never fully support it.. I'm also waiting for first brave testers as I urgently need to...
