[05/02 Added Temporary Fix] Pascal / GTX 1060 Glitching after waking from sleep

I can confirm that an upgrade to High Sierra has also fixed the issue for me. I'm running 10.13.5 with web driver 387.10.10.10.45.106 and have been testing for about a week. Now sleeps fine and wakes without any graphical glitches. Single display port display on a GTX 1060. I did a direct...

Trying to disable Pascal GPU through DSDT/SSDT patches - need help!

Install the nvidia drivers. It should then recognise the card and allow you to tell it to output on that device only.

Trying to disable Pascal GPU through DSDT/SSDT patches - need help!

You don't have to change to PCIE in the bios. Windows will startup using the Intel HD 530, but you can then tell it to use the Pascal card only in the windows display settings. That means in future it will boot for a couple of seconds on the HD 530, but then switch over to the Pascal card. You...

Trying to disable Pascal GPU through DSDT/SSDT patches - need help!

That's right. nv_disable=1 and select integrated graphics as the priority in your motherboard bios. I then connect the hdmi port from the integrated graphics to one input on my monitor and the DisplayPort from the gtx 1060 to another input on the monitor. I can then select the appropriate input...

Trying to disable Pascal GPU through DSDT/SSDT patches - need help!

When I set the rocker switch to on and boot into Windows it behaves exactly as it did without the mod. I have a Zotac GTX 1060 AMP Edition card which (when drivers are installed) powers the fans down at low loads. So the fans only ever power up when gaming. Other 1060 cards may be different...

Trying to disable Pascal GPU through DSDT/SSDT patches - need help!

I looked into this. As far as I could work out, there is no modding utility available for Pascal cards yet, but this situation may change.

Trying to disable Pascal GPU through DSDT/SSDT patches - need help!

I gave up on getting the fans to power down through DSDT/SSDT hacks or anything else software driven. In the end I went for a hardware mod, which is working great. Basically, I put a mini GPU fan cable extension between the GTX 1060 fan and the GPU itself...

[GUIDE] [SUCCESS] MSI Radeon RX 480 Gaming X full acceleration in macOS Sierra

For those that have got the RX 480 working, how is the fan management in Sierra currently? I have a silent build so want the fans to spin down when idle as some of the aftermarket cards do. Do the fans audibly spin when not under load? Thanks.

    RX 460 - 480 on Sierra - Best Brands

Dafar Well done in getting the RX 480 running. I'm interested in getting one as AMD seems to be the future for Hackintosh since Nvidia Pascal drivers don't seem to be appearing anytime soon. One question - how are the noise levels under Sierra currently for this card? Are the fans audible when...
