I had the same issue using Tony Mac's install guide. I had to disable the "Super I/O - PCI Slot 1" in my BIOS (where my graphics card was) in order to install the OS. I'm using the same graphics card, but the 4 gb version. Let me know if this helps or if you run into further issues!
