MSI GS65 Stealth 9SG - Stuck at installation boot

Thanks for your reply. I did try with a USB 2.0 drive on all 3 ports. Still the same. The only different is it's a 8GB. Would 16GB makes a different? I created Mojave USB boot on the 8GB drive without any problem. Thanks.

MSI GS65 Stealth 9SG - Stuck at installation boot

Dear all, I need help with my new laptop Mojave installation. I had experience with hackintosh on another laptop before so I am familiar with these steps. I followed RehabMan USB booting guide and created a bootable Mojve USB drive. But with this new laptop I got stuck at installation and never...

    Razer Stealth 12.5" i7-7500U KabyLake 4K

Dear RehabMan, I am back after a while. I have successfully updated to Catalina on my laptop. Everything works well, except HDMI Audio. It was working fine on Mojave. I am attaching my debug with HDMI hot-plugged. Also, if I boot with HDMI plugged, both screen went blank (although the external...

    HP OMEN 15-5113dx

Dear RehabMan, After working smoothly for a while, I have updated this HP Omen laptop to 10.14.3, update to the latest Clover. But now the laggy at boot problem and glitchy graphics is happening again. It's the same if I change to MacbookPro 11,1. I have updated to the latest WhateverGreen 1.3.3...

    HP OMEN 15-5113dx

AMAZING RehabMan! Now I have external sound for both hot-plug and boot with HDMI plugged as I worked before on 10.13. Thank you. And yes, just to confirm, I haven't modify the data for hda-gfx so please fix the guide plist for future users. Thank you again.

    HP OMEN 15-5113dx

I believe I have implemented FakePCIID_Intel_HDMI_Audio.kext correctly, and I still don't have external audio device when hot plug. Please check my files. Thank you.

    HP OMEN 15-5113dx

Sure, let's start from hot-plug. I remember when I was on 10.13 I used AppleHDA patcher by Mirone (my codec is ALC282) and got audio working perfectly, with HDMI hot plug and boot with HDMI also. So I changed to patching AppleHDA and got internal audio working. But now as I hot-plug HDMI, I...

    HP OMEN 15-5113dx

UPDATE: by updating WhateverGreen to 1.2.3 now graphics glitch is complete gone. I am so satisfied with this since it is very annoying. Now I am left with HDMI audio. Turn out I do need the patch for pipe 12 or HDMI doesn't work. The rest of the patches for con1 I have disabled. Still, with...

    HP OMEN 15-5113dx

I did as you said, but both problems persist (glitch graphics & no external sound if booted with HDMI plugged). Please help. P/S: in the worst case, does IntelGraphicsFixup & Shiki still work on 10.14? I can try using them instead of WhateverGreen, because I never had a glitchy graphics problem...

    HP OMEN 15-5113dx

I am attaching 3 files. One is before HDMI hot-plug, one is with hot-plug (I have external sound as HDMI in Sound/Output), and one file when I boot with HDMI plugged (no external audio device). Just a reminder, when I re-enable framebuffer@2 I have external audio even when I boot with HDMI...

    HP OMEN 15-5113dx

This is strange, because as I installed FakePCIID_Intel_HDMI... I do not have HDMI audio at all (either hot plug or boot with plugged cable). By removing the kext I have HDMI audio when hot plug, and not when I booted with HDMI. But if I enable framebuffer@2 back, I have audio even when boot...

    HP OMEN 15-5113dx

I am sorry for my typos. And yes I mean config.plist/ACPI/DropOem=false. I didn't know BIOS renamed all SSDTs so when I dumped it I thought it replaces all old files. Now I got NVIDIA disabled by putting SSDT-5-INSYDE.aml. But the two problems still persist: glitchy graphics and no audio...

    HP OMEN 15-5113dx

Sorry for my lack of knowledge, but I will need your help on this. As I set DropOEM=fast and leave SortedOrder unspecified, NVIDIA still shows up as I leave SSDT-7 and SSDT-8 in patched. How should I fix it? Thank you very much

    HP OMEN 15-5113dx

So I have made the changes - Changed SMBIOS to MacBookPro11,1 - Turn out I only need SSDT-7 and SSDT-8 to disable NVIDIA, so I only place those two in patched and set DropOEM=true and SortedOrder, I got NVIDIA disabled. - I disabled patch0,patch1,patch2 in Devices/Properties. - Changed my...

    HP OMEN 15-5113dx

Can you please show me how to do it? are they framebuffer-portcount 2 and framebuffer-pipecount 2? And what do I set for framebuffer-con2-xxx? UPDATE: as I hot plug HDMI, I have sound as HDMI, even with @2 removed. But as I boot with HDMI plugged, I have to enable @2 to get sound. Very strange...

    HP OMEN 15-5113dx

Also another strange thing happened. As I removed framebuffer@2, HDMI audio is gone too. I have tried various patch but no luck, only as soon as I re-enable framebuffer@2, I get HDMI audio (both hot plug HDMI and boot with HDMI plugged). Very strange. But if I leave @2 on I get the laggy login...
