Applied successfully several updates on my El Capitan setup. The sound still works, the brightness and sound buttons work too. The sleep works just fine: no pb with sound or ethernet at wake-up. May be, if I feel very very brave, I'll take off the wifi/BT card from my 4530s if it's compatible.

I used a Yosemite patched AppleHDA, does it explain why I don't see any sound driver in the Pref panel ?

I applied the "Audio Layout 12" & "IRQ Fix" patches to my DSDT.aml Now I'm reading the guide to patch my AppleHDA.kext

Will check that. blink screen fixed my garbled login window. There's certainly a cleaner solution but it will do for now (I'm lagging seriously behind my planned developments). I have to fiddle with the plist to run it only once after boot, not when I login too, etc. I still plan to play...

All 4 USB work. One the garbled screen is corrected by putting the screen to sleep once, it works just fine. I've spent several hours working on it without freeze. Downloading Xcode 7 and working on fixing more items.
