Would this command diskutier resetUserPermissions / `id - u` do it/have done it? I attached a screenshot of the result.
I also used KextWizard's "repair disk permissions" thing before that and it said successful, and I followed the commands from carpentryplus28's response too. The thing is...
What way do you guys suggest I repair disk permissions? I see apps for it when I googled it but I'd rather do it by terminal if still possible, and if not if there's a particular app you guys trust I'd rather use that. Cheers.
Can I use Kext Wizard's built in feature for that is that outdated...
Can anyone else confirm this (would just like to double check) and how can I do this?
Can it live in /L/E? Or must it live in /S/L/E? If it must live there how can I protect it from updates?
I never saw your answer originally (I don't know how I read over it and I apologize for that). That answers the original question of this thread. Thank you.
No, I mean the kexts that came on the computer (so not the ones I mentioned originally; I mean the other kexts, those that there are way more of, that are filling S/L/E). I am pretty sure none of those kexts were kexts I installed there, they were ones that came when you install macOS; that are...
Rehabman, say I need to uninstall VoodooPS2Controller from S/L/E because I accidentally installed it there and it's the wrong kext for my computer (which it is, I need to use the other keyboard/touchpad kext), how can I uninstall the kext completely and safely from S/L/E?
And for the kexts that...
I do have that card and it's physically installed but is all you need those two kexts or are there any other steps?
Also you mention Lilu plugins, to which plugins do you refer in this?
Thanks Duncan!
Wait a sec, any or any of the ones I mentioned? Because unless I did something wrong, there are a ton of kexts in there already (and I'm pretty sure those are Apple-default).
Also, for the WiFi card, did you ever install drivers for it on Windows or was it just plug and play? It seems to be...
Wait, so why is my S/L/E filled with kexts? I'm on High Sierra w/ Clover...
(And I guess my other question was are any of those kexts I mentioned vanilla kexts or are those all Hackintosh kexts and so not natively found if I were to just install macOS normally)
Wait, so did you just install Lilu and IntelGraphicsFixup there, or did you install AppleHDA there as well? If you didn't install AppleHDA there, I am curious as to whether it is actually working from /Other despite what's said in some places on these forums (maybe clover updated and so now that...
Nice! I'm also almost done making my own guide as well, but just still have work to do getting these kinks worked out. I'm really happy you released yours! Someone in this thread said he needed it so hopefully he'll see you posted it.
And yeah, well from what I understand there are some people...
I never realized how many kexts were already in System/Library/Extensions by default. Is FakeSMC.Kext, or are any of the following: IntelGraphicsFixup.kext, Lilu.Kext, RealtekRTL8111.kext, SATA-100-Series-Unsupported.Kext, USBInjectAll.kext, VoodooPS2Controller.kext already in...
Does this mean that FakePCIID can't be put in my Clover/Kexts/Other folder as an "essential kext" (I need it for my WiFi)? Or can it still be put there? Also RehabMan, where can I find the correct links to your various kexts? Is https://bitbucket.org/RehabMan the right place?
Duncan, is there...
Yep, realized that now and am very happy to share that I successfully installed macOS on the laptop now. Thank you so much RehabMan and AGuyWhoIsBored!
I stand corrected, thanks Rehabman. Erasing the disk worked. Now to create my partitions, do I want to select the disk as a whole ("Micron 1100 SATA 256GB Media') and click "Partition" or do I want to select the "Untitled" below that and then click Partition for that one? Or is selecting either...
"Erasing "disk0s1" and creating "UNTITLED": Erase process has failed. Click Done to continue."
That's from selecting the disk as a whole. Also I wouldn't mind it erasing everything, because everything's already erased anyways (even the Windows install).
The disk is grayed out under "Internal"...
Will it not interfere with the other partitions if it creates that one? What I'm worried about is it creating that since I have 4 partitions on the PC already (including the macOS one) and if it messes with any of them it'll be a hit.
