Succesfull Mavericks install on old Intel DQ35JOE Motherboard

I have an old P5K-VM which is also using the GMA 3100 built in video but the max resolution I can get out of it is 1024x768. I tried setting it to 1280x1024 in the plist file but it remains at 1024 resolution.

    Triple boot not working

Appreciate all the help. Tried that and in both cases the NTFS error still flashes up very quickly before the boot menu shows up but the Error Starting the Computer error seems to have disappeared.

    Triple boot not working

A bit of an update re this problem. I also have another hard drive that has Yosemite installed on it. I have either the Mavericks or the Yosemite drive powered up but not both at the same time. Tonight in Yosemite I used the right arrow key to display the other partitions other than Yosemite. I...

    Triple boot not working

The 1TB drive with Windows is definitely not UEFI. It shows up as n FDisk in Maverick's partition info list. The drive does not have any system partitions at the beginning of the drive only XP and Win7 followed by two logical data partitions and a Mac OSx backup partition (so that backups are...

    Triple boot not working

That is already available but in order to boot XP/Win7 I have to remember to press F8 on power up of the machine select the 1TB drive with those OS on and then boot into the BootMgr screen and select either Win7 or XP. If I want to boot into Mavericks I have to do the same process but this time...

    Triple boot not working

Well I tried creating a HPFS partition and installed Chimera over in it. The problem is that that managed to prevent windows from booting even without the OS X hard drive connected. It still showed Bootmgr missing. I had to boot with my Win7 Rescue Disk and fix the MBR. Guess I will have to...

    Triple boot not working

The boot file is the one at the root of the OS X drive? Is that moving the Chimera installed files over to the 1TB drive? Just worried that if I delete anything from the OS X drive and it fails to boot then I may have problems getting back into the OS. Does this 100MB partition have to be...

I tried Disk Names before this approach and even unique ones like the Win7New did not hide properly. Well this time I used the partition list names and it worked!

Partition hide & rename in boot menu doesn't want to work

I am not doing something right here. I want to hide the following partitions from the Chimera boot menu: disk0s2,disk2s5,disk3s1,disk3s2,disk3s5,disk3s6 using <key>Hide Partition</key> <string>hd(0,2) hd(2,5) hd(3,1) hd(3,2) hd(3,5) hd(3,6)</string> as shown in the attached boot.plist file...

Unable to boot properly even with iBoot after MultiBeast

Right because that other thread was a problem that I struggled on for a week to get the solution for. I posted the solution in that other thread in case someone else has the same problem and so that they did not have to pull their hair out like I did. Is there any FAQ on the Wiki that actually...

    Loading Operating System takes 23secs

Have my first Hackintosh built with the hardware in my profile but I notice on startup that the system takes 23 secs to display the Chimera boot screen. During this time I see "Loading Operating System....". Is this normal or is there a way of cutting down this 23 secs?

    Gigabyte Backup BIOS

Fix as mentioned in posst #2 here http://www.tonymacx86.com/viewtopic.php?f=7&t=42579&p=269638&hilit=realtimeisuniversal#p269638 is to create a new registry key and set that to 1 in WIndows.

    Gigabyte Backup BIOS

The reason I think this is happening is that Linux/Unix based systems assume the Bios date and time reflects UTC time rather than local time. I know in Linux there is a setting in the o/s to indicate that the BIOS date and time is local time rather than UTC or GMT. However I do not know if Snow...
