I have the Gigbabyte HD6850 video card in a working SL 10.6.8 install.

Currently using the DVI-I port with an DVI-I to VGA adapter to hook up a VGA only monitor. I have a PS/2 VGA KVM that I would also like to use with this system at the same time as the DVI-I adapter is being used. Is it possible to do this under SL via either a HDMI to VGA, DisplayPort to VGA adapter? As far as I can tell one can not get an adapter that will work properly to convert DVI-D to VGA.

As far as I know dual link DVI wont work, but you could use one of these with DP: http://ca.startech.com/AV/Displayport-Converters/DisplayPort-to-VGA-Video-Adapter-Converter~DP2VGA

Just wanted to make sure that with SL that multiple ports are usable on this card at the same time.

I was thinking of getting something from Monoprice.com either

or

I don't know about SL but I do know that the DP works under Lion, so I can only assume that it would also nee supported under SL.

As for adapters I know that you need an active adapter to go from DP to DVI or HDMI. So I don't know if you need an active (expensive) adapter or just a cable like the one in the link you provided (cheap) to go from DP to VGA. Do some googling on that before spending your money.

Ok thanks for the help.
