I also have the new Dell XPS 15 7590, but with the i9-9980HK instead of the i7 .
I've found that Bavariancake's Dell XPS 9570 guide works really well for the XPS 7590 (it's pretty much identical!) https://github.com/bavariancake/XPS9570-macOS/
There are a couple of things that still need...
Hello @the-darkvoid!
Thank you so much for developing this kext, as now we are one step closer to getting fan support / fan control for these Dell laptops with pesky SMM fan controllers.
I have recently acquired the Dell XPS 15 7590, and I have installed the latest build of RehabMan's FakeSMC...
Hello again!
I've been experimenting with CoreDisplayFixup.kext, and I've come to the conclusion (correct me if I'm wrong) that you don't need to have both the CoreDisplay patches (ran from the-darkvoid's / Mac-pixel-clock-patch scripts) AND the kext implemented at the same time.
I'm now having...
Good to hear!
I have also ran into another problem (and another solution)!
I updated to 10.13.3, and with the same patches in place, the screen went black right a few seconds after I typed in my password to login (with CoreDisplayFixup + Lilu + CoreDisplay patches [im not sure if the...
I don't own this Y50, which is why it isn't in my profile details - I'm doing this for a friend
But here are all of the necessary profile details:
Lenovo Y50-70 20378 w/ UHD (4K) display w/ Clover v4.3k RM edition
Intel i7-4720HQ w/ Intel HD Graphics 4600 (HM87 chipset)
16GB DDR3L RAM...
Thank you for that!
Once that was enabled, the distortions went away, but now when it boots it goes to a completely black screen right around when the graphics is supposed to initialize, and it never shows the login screen ...
Is this something due to DVMT or something else I might have...
Hey all!
I'm trying to get one of these Lenovo Y50-70 laptops to run macOS High Sierra, and this guide has come in great use!
However, I am facing one obstacle to getting this laptop from working perfectly!
After I rebuild caches and restart, the screen is very distorted, as shown below...
Rebuilt the injector and now everything is working except the speakers! I'm not too sure as to why this wouldn't work (as headphones and mic work fine), as I've been using the same files since I originally patched the audio on this laptop!
Should I re-patch my audio?
I'll reattach...
I've installed one of my AppleHDA injector kexts, but it won't load (and thus no audio). Here's what it says when I try to force load it:
Last login: Wed Jan 24 09:02:50 on console
Duncans-MacBook-Pro:~ duncan$ open /library/extensions
Duncans-MacBook-Pro:~ duncan$ sudo kextload...
The audio suddenly stopped working recently, and I'm not too sure why.
It looks like audio is working but when I adjust the volume it "lags" and doesn't output anything.
Here are some logs:
8-01-23 21:46:57.650881-0800 0x35d Default 0x0 0 0 kernel...
I've properly (hopefully) installed all kexts into /L/E/ and rebuilt caches, and we still have no dice ...
Here are the "Problem Reporting" files again!
Thank you!

When I attempt to install the kexts to /L/E using "sudo kextcache -i /", all of the kexts don't have valid file permissions. I already changed ownership of all of the kexts to root:Wheel, and changed their permissions to 755. Any reason why this could be happening? :think...
Good catch! Thank you!
And Hello again! I've been really busy with a lot of things lately, but I noticed recently that my sound has stopped working! I think it happened after I updated to 10.13.2...
I've been trying to get it working, but with no dice!
It looks like audio is working...
Did you try adding SATA-100-series-unsupported.kext? Adding this solved this problem for me when I was using my Inspiron 15 7559
Hopefully that will help!

Could you boot into Windows and see what GPU the HDMI port is attached to? You can check this by looking at the display properties in Windows, which will show show you which graphics device is driving a given monitor. It looks like yours is attached to the Intel HD Graphics (thus why it's...
The hackintosh kexts shouldn't've been there by default after installation (as it's a clean install), but it's really just a matter of preference to where you install your kexts.
I did install IntellGraphicsFixUp and Lilu to /S/L/E along with my patched AppleHDA, as a) it's highly recommended...
Looking forward to seeing that guide! :D
1) I personally install most of my kexts to /Clover/Kexts/Other (as in my opinion it makes the system more "native"), but there are also some kexts that I need to install to S/L/E, such as my AppleHDA dummy injector (as that needs to be installed in...
