Ive got most of it working now, but the wifi is still proving tricky. I've installed the FakePCIID.kext and FakePCIID_Broadcom.kext using kext utility, but can't work out how to patch the config file. Have you got any advice? Sorry to hassle you again.

All patches for Broadcom WiFi are already present in the guide plist.
All kexts necessary are already installed by download.sh and install_downloads.sh.
No need to do anything other than what is in the guide...

You forgot to attach "problem reporting" files as per post #1.

Hey all!

I'm trying to get one of these Lenovo Y50-70 laptops to run macOS High Sierra, and this guide has come in great use!
However, I am facing one obstacle to getting this laptop from working perfectly!

After I rebuild caches and restart, the screen is very distorted, as shown below:

Anything I can do to fix this?
I should mention this is the UHD model, and I did set DVMT to 128MB using the EFI shell and "setup_var 0x18C 0x4" command!
I attempted to follow the guide step-by-step, but I may be missing a step or two that I may not be aware of

Thank you!

Make sure legacy boot/CSM is enabled in BIOS.

Make sure legacy boot/CSM is enabled in BIOS.

Thank you for that!
Once that was enabled, the distortions went away, but now when it boots it goes to a completely black screen right around when the graphics is supposed to initialize, and it never shows the login screen ...
Is this something due to DVMT or something else I might have missed?
Any advice on how to fix it?

Thank you!

Your profile does not indicate all requested hardware details (your profile indicates you do not own a Y50). Please fix as per FAQ:
http://www.tonymacx86.com/el-capita...faq-read-first-laptop-frequent-questions.html

No "Problem Reporting" files attached.
Read FAQ, "Problem Reporting" again. Carefully. Attach all requested files/output.

I don't own this Y50, which is why it isn't in my profile details - I'm doing this for a friend
But here are all of the necessary profile details:
Lenovo Y50-70 20378 w/ UHD (4K) display w/ Clover v4.3k RM edition
Intel i7-4720HQ w/ Intel HD Graphics 4600 (HM87 chipset)
16GB DDR3L RAM
nVidia GTX 860M

And the problem reporting files should be attached to the post (I had to turn graphics injection off to be able to boot into the system)!

Thank you!

Hey all!
I have fixed the issue by installing CoreDisplayFixUp.kext! :D

Ownership is not relevant.
Your profile must indicate the system you're asking questions.

With 4k display, CoreDisplayFixup.kext is recommended.
You're the first to positively confirm it works.
I will try to add it to the github scripts when I get a chance.

Problem though: It might not work with older OS X (such as 10.11.x, 10.10.x, 10.9.x, 10.8.x).
