Thanks, I'm building an identical build this week so maybe I'll start that one out with a fresh BIOS update and 2 sticks of RAM instead. Will report back.
OS: Mac OS X 10.8.5
Case: Corsair Carbide Series Black 500R
Motherboard: GA-Z87X-UD5H
CPU: Intel Core i7-4770K
RAM: CORSAIR Vengeance 32GB (4 x 8GB) DDR3
SSD: OCZ-VERTEX3 240 GB SATA III
HDD: Seagate Barracuda 1TB
Audio Interface: Symphony I/O 8x8
Hello everyone.
I posted about this...
Honestly, the audio didn't last long enough for me to really be able to observe the detail. It would last about 30-50 seconds tops before it started to distort.
Regardless, the Symphony I/O is USB2 only (hence why it wouldn't play nice with USB3) so there shouldn't be any difference in how much...
Yes, a mistake but on the note of graphics cards, we actually ended up just buying a GTX 650 1GB to fix the dual monitor boot-up issue we were having. Doesn't hurt to have a card installed anyways. Still haven't gotten a dip in work to throw it on yet but I don't think it will cause any issues...
If you've got experience with the initial setup I'd say go for it. I wouldn't necessarily recommend this board as it seems to have had more incompatibility issues right off the bat compared to other but once everything is running its a dream with Pro Tools.
I've done some searching and couldn't quite find anything directly relating my issue.
If I connect one HDMI cable to my Intel HD HDMI ports, everything launches fine. If I connect the second HDMI cable (second monitor) once I'm already in OS X, everything works fine.
If I connect both HDMI...
The GA-787X-UD5H has been a headache for me with audio. I get distortion/stuttering/pops and clicks just from watching YouTube videos. I'm currently using a Symphony I/O as the audio interface and the Hackintosh just doesn't like it for some reason... A lot of forum searching reveals the same...
Wish it was that simple. Ended up realizing the system audio is only ok for a few minutes before it starts to stutter. After that everything just goes wrong. Not even sure where the problem is anymore.
First 3 steps didn't resolve the issue. The 4th step didn't either but I'll be honest and admit I was a little lost on how to go about it. Read the readme and everything but it just kind of went over my head.. All I basically did was install the kext.
Upon searching S/L/E I realized I don't...
Sorry if this is the wrong thread but I have been having issues with my audio (crackling, distortion, cut outs, etc). What's odd is that I am using an audio interface (Symphony I/O USB) and I figured I wouldn't even have to be worrying about audio codecs...
Is it safe to assume that a fresh...
How much could this have to do with the motherboard's BIOS version? I haven't upgraded it to its latest version as I felt no need to. I'm going to do whatever I can when I get back into work tomorrow to get this Hackintosh fully working!
I'm on the same page. Same mobo, i7 4770k CPU, and having issues with the audio even while using a dedicated audio interface (Symphony I/O). The audio goes especially bonkers as soon as I try to record something in Pro Tools. Only fix currently is to restart interface, go into Audio/MIDI Setup...
I've been struggling through getting my first successful build up and running smoothly since Wednesday and its been a frustrating albeit fun and enlightening experience. At this point I've cooled myself down and gotten out of "kid on Christmas day" mode and taking it one step at a time, haha...
FIXED -- Stuck on post-installation startup [Mountain Lion] [Z87X-UD5H] [Intel i7 4770k]
Problem has been fixed! It ended up being a faulty DVI cable?? I switched to a fairly new HDMI cable and everything just... worked! Sometimes the most obvious solution is the right one...
Thanks for all...
